"I went into Irwells with my friend, her baby and two dogs today. We walked in and walked straight back out due to the vile attitude of the old blonde lady. When we went in, no instruction was given to us, and we walked past two staff who didn’t acknowledge us, or tell us what was required from us. They then proceeded to tell us that we needed to go back to a table near the entrance. The cafe is small and cramped and considering we had a large pram, no attempt was made to give us any help. The dog (yes very wrongly) jumped up at a lady to greet her and the old blonde lady proceeded to humiliate us in front of the whole cafe telling us to, “get control over the dogs”. My friends works directly with dogs for a living, she has complete control over the dogs. But when we’re left on our own to reverse with NO help from staff, yes we can’t keep an eye on them at the same time. We told the dog instantly, we do not condone the behaviour. But we also would’ve appreciated a little more understanding. When we sat down, another member of staff proceeds to embarrass us further by telling me the pram can’t be there. But the previous rude lady told us to?? By that point we didn’t even want to be there and left. As we were doing so, she then sl*gs up off to another customer!!! Absolutely shocking customer service and attitude to two young women. Would absolutely not return to this cafe with diabolical service and zero compassion for their customers."

Food was basic but I wasn't expecting much. Service was about on par with Karen's Diner except not in the fun way..

My sisters and I went here for early lunch, extremely busy, which is good for the business but not good for us. 2 of us had toasted teacakes and 1 toast, their take on toast isn't the same as mine. It was more warm bread...

Absolutely appalling experience. This was our first time visiting. Would never revisit. Waitress so rude and bullying. Insisted we ordered drinks before our food, which meant our drinks would be cold by the time our food arrived. When I complained a gentleman came over to see us, his attitude so rude and arrogant. Totally disgusting experience. Would not recommend.

We had pulled beef muffins, chips and salad. The muffins were thin and broke easily. The pulled beef was tasteless and the beef muffin as a whole was dry. It didn't have anything in it apart from a small amount of onion and pulled beef. The salad was mainly salad leaves with a quarter of a small tomato, one slice of cucumber and a couple of slivers of onion. I personally like crisp chips, but others found them hard. The tables are far too close together and too small to sit 4 people comfortably. Really disappointed as it was supposed to be an early Mother's Day treat for my mother in law. I've been before and enjoyed the brie and cranberry, however I doubt I'll go again. Speisekarte ansehen

After hearing great things about this restaurant, I was excited to try it for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. The restaurant was busy, which I usually consider a good sign. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving, another positive. I ordered the cajun chicken burger from the specials board, which came with two fried onion rings, fries, and coleslaw. The food arrived in a timely manner, considering how busy the kitchen was. However, the burger bun was dry and almost stale, the cajun spice was nonexistent, and the chicken coating was overly oily and fell apart. The onion rings had too much batter and were extremely greasy. The lettuce and tomato...

My friend and I went to Irwells today for brunch with our children. Although the place was clean and the food was delicious, the service and the atmosphere was appalling. A member of staff seated us in an area that we can put our prams. We got asked politely by the first waitress to move the prams in closer if we could so we did. But 3 other members of staff, grabbed our prams in an angry manner and moved them out of the way, even though we moved them to the place where we got asked to. They also, kept tutting, and muttering under their breaths. We got rushed to order our food. When we were eating our food, cutlery got taken from our table from a waitress. We got made to feel like an inconve...

"Well, it 's been a while since I 've reviewed a place but this little gem has certainly reawakened my vigour for it. Visited this evening as a kind of belated birthday celebration with my husband and son and very glad we did indeed. We happened upon this place a few weeks back (passing by and grabbing a cocktail after the days plans fell through and instantly took to the place and it 's wonderful staff and from the off had intentions to visit again an so finally did tonight), within seconds of seating ourself at the bar we were remembered by the owners, which to me shows great calibre on the customer service front. As someone with an exceptionally sweet tooth when it comes to alcohol it was our lucky day to find they had cocktails on 2for£10 and hell can the owner Jo mix like a minx (even doing us an off menu blend to account for tastes). The husband not being a big drinker happily sat at the bar chatting with staff and customers nursing his Peroni whilst me and my son dived headlong into the extensive classical and modern mixed cocktail list. Having been lured into great expectations (previously sampling delicious tasters) from Jo 's lovely husband Dave on our first brief visit we were definitely eagerly placed to dive into dinner tonight. Our lovely waitress Sian, stood patiently while we chopped and changed idea 's and orders, laughed with us, checked regularly everything was to our tastes as did the other young waitress that dropped drinks over to us. Both girls portraying the perfect mix of friendly and professional, a refreshing change to be served by people that clearly enjoy their working environment. And on to the food... we started with olives (and boy was it a substantial portion in comparison with some establishments weak efforts), hubby was first in there, impressed with the quality of marinade (too many places these days forget the little efforts like this thinking folk can 't differentiate something tipped out of a supermarket packet). After much debate (I had my eye on far too many dishes) choices were made, Hubby had the Filo Kefta, which had a light pastry, adequate spice and smoothly complimentary dip, for main he went with the day 's Special of Lamb with fondant potato, heritage carrots and a divinely velvety Jus which he thoroughly enjoyed (and he 's hard to please, being well versed himself and making a point of getting the lovely Chef Darren a glass of wine in appreciation). The lad had a Sirloin steak burger cooked medium rare and is now demanding we visit again soon. lol I went with the Gravlax to start, instantly aware of the clean flavour from its curing cutting through (I even brought a titbit home for my kitty to enjoy), as for main, I 'd initially had my mind on fish but upon discovering the owner Jo was also a blue steak lover I had to try one there and wow they really take care in choosing their suppliers because that was an A grade cut of meat, even my son (who prefers medium-rare) upon trying a slice said it was an exceptional piece of meat I had it with asparagus, no sauce and swapped out the chips for a feta/pepper bowl which worked perfectly as did the glass of Shiraz that Jo picked out to compliment it for me. Genuinely I can not pick fault (read through my other reviews I write honestly, pick fault where warranted and compliment where due). Had this lovely little find been in our usual local it would surely become a regular haunt ours for sure. I would 100% recommend this place and extend our gratitude to all the staff for making our entire visit memorable and perfect."

"We were in Bury for a few days visiting family and the weather was beautiful , we live on the Wirral and frequently visit Brasco lounge in Liverpool of the same chain , which we love. We actually visited Racconto lounge 3 times on our visit , first time we had a brunch of bacon and egg muffin , which we really enjoyed (although the bacon was very salty) The next day we came back and had a lounge breakfast , and the following day we brought my husbands mum , and drank cups of tea while resting from shopping . We enjoyed all the meals , and its lovely inside , although we ate on the terrace in the sunshine and we found all the staff very pleasant and friendly . But..... we had 2 things let it down for us . Firstly on each occasion , the service was extremely slow, when we had breakfast , it wasn't very busy , but we waited ages , although our tea was brought out well before the food , meaning we then had no drinks to go with the food . The second problem was , after waiting ages , we had to send the breakfast back as it was really cold , and it seemed like it had been sat waiting , almost as long as we had , the bacon on both the breakfast muffin and the breakfast was really , really salty also. None of this would put us off , as we enjoyed the dining experience overall , but if you are in a rush , i really wouldn't recommend eating here , as the wait was alot longer than expected every time ."
