"The food from Jade Palace is always excellent but the wait time and service is terrible. During lockdown we had our order delivered accepting that we never knew when it would arrive. During the summer we opted to collect but even though we telephoned our order, and were given a time to collect, it became apparent that our food was only cooked once we had waited in a queue to pay for it and we still waited approx an hour outside the shop for our order. This was not so bad with dry light summer nights. Not so much fun in the wet and dark!!We accepted that New Years Eve would be busy but it was something else. Arriving at 6.20 we waited to order food and at 6.35 were told the food was taking 45 mins and we decided to order and wait. At 7.30 after observing several people agitated about their wait (all stood outside in the freezing cold we got no answers. We asked again at 7.45 when another customer said she had been waiting for over 2 hours. We eventually got our food at 8pm. Our total wait time 1 hour 40 mins.Simply put Jade Palace is unable to cope with its success. The staff seem completely overrun and at times are rude although working hard and doing their best. The system does not work. We watched one customer go into the shop and after approx 15 mins he got his food (we watched him park behind us and we were there a long time after he left!! Another said they had pre ordered and paid the day before and still waited over an hour. Unfortunately although the food is excellent its simply not worth the fuss. What a shame."

We had our order delivered to our apartment. It arrived on time, was piping hot, and delicious My dad is coeliac and they were very helpful when it came to his choices.

We Ordered our food at 7pm this evening, was told it would be an hour and we are still waiting, we rang to get information on what was happening to be informed it hasn't even been cooked yet and it is 9pm!! i am not happy at all

We were really looking forward to our Chinese meal. Arrived on time. Portion size good. Food presentation looked ok, not the same as the egg fried rice or chow main we’re used too. Soon disappointed as the food was tasteless, but prawn crackers were the best part of the meal.

Title says it all, even nicer now on rainy days when I’m not waiting around in the shop, young delivery girl is always smiling and so polite when she arrives at the door which the kids love. Our go to Sunday treat dinner these days. Favourite dish salt and pepper chicken lovely!

Highly recommended! We were put off our local Chinese due to some disappointing meals and local horror stories and we had to find somewhere new. Jade Palace is a little out of the way for us, but it is definitely worth the drive. The food is fresh and delicious. Not to mention you can see the chefs cooking the food to order and the kitchen looks spotless.

Just very good food! Freshly prepared by chefs you can watch. Crispy chilli beef remains crisp. Lovely zingy flavours in their chicken with ginger and spring onions. Ribs are good, meaty! Good value and huge portions. Chips are not good. Would’ve been a 5 if hadn’t been for the wait. I can understand that they perhaps worry that people won’t arrive for orders but I’m sure there’s a system they could implement that could improve this.

Delicious food and fantastic speedy polite service. My wife are staying down the road in Amber house and We decided on Chinese last night and so I looked up local take aways and found Jade palace. We ordered mushroom foo yung, salt and pepper chilli chicken, Singapore noodles and a pot of curry sauce. The order was cooked fresh in front of me and within approx 5 minutes our food was ready. The portions are very good sizes and the food was all delicious so tasty and fresh. The salt Pepper Chilli Chicken was a new dish and it is awesome, so tasty.

Put in a telephone order for collection and was told at 6.20 it would be ready at 7.15. Arrived at 7 and had to wait 15 minutes to get in to actually pay for the food and was told it would be a further 15 minute wait. At 7.50 we eventually got our order an hour and a half instead of 45 minutes. Nearly £100 spent and given just one bag of prawn crackers even though three separate orders all over £30! Would not go back on a Saturday as people waiting outside and just way too busy. They dealt with home deliveries before people waiting which left many customers frustrated. Have given two stars as the food was first class as always just the service and wait was unacceptable.
