"The food was delicious, the flavours, textures and portions were perfect. I had the duck to start (run don't walk), the pork main (WOW) and the apple and treacle tart to finish. My partner and I both had the pork belly which was melt in the mouth good, the combination of flavours from the pumpkin, butternut squash and the sauce were heavenly. The service was exceptional, Olivia and Emily were friendly and checked in on us enough to know we were being looked after without intruding on our meal. It's a small restaurant (approx 7 tables), the atmosphere was the perfect blend of busy but not crowded, with compliments to the chef floating in the air. We'll definitely be booking in advance (you have to) the next time we come to Whitby. "Breakfast was ok, my partner's toast was untoasted, he asked for toasted toast and they only brought 1 slice, seemed a bit stingy to not replace both slices. The rest of his breakfast was good. I asked for 3 items from extras menu as I have dietary limitations, they charged me £11 and the scrambled egg wasn't good at all, bland and watery, I just hope it wasn't made with milk as I'd informed them I was lactose intolerant. When I queried the £11 charge they said they'd charged me for bread which I didn't have so did refund me £1.50. Staff were lovely and the place had a nice relaxed vibe. Probably a nice place for coffee and cake as the lattes were fine and the cakes looked nice, but from my experience expensive for the quality and portions."

"Can't rate this place enough. Visited for breakfast and easily catered for two coeliacs and one vegetarian. Absolutely blown away by the menu choices for gluten free. Food was astounding. "I took my man a year after estbek after a friend told me about it. I fell in love with the place. estbek lies in a beautiful place in sandsend. the rooms are beautiful, very comfortable with good quality bed linen, all the views of the front of the building so in the position to see the sea, we stayed in all 4 rooms! the menu is excellent. every time I have eaten here, I want to have the same thing because it's so good, but I always make myself choose something else and I was never disappointed. the wee is just as good. I am a red wine lover and since I eat fish here I will ask for a recommendation, again, never disappointed, the wee is excellent. the service is also brilliant, all staff are beautiful and seem to enjoy their job. since our first visit we have married and are back every year to celebrate our jubilee. the 2 men who run estbek are irritating, according to my opinion they have it with estbek absolutely in every sense, it is an absolute gem."
