Takeaway order..beef dish full of sugar and duck dish was mainly skin and fat covered in a kind of jam sauce..expensive and very disppointing..

We stopped here quite by accident on the way to the port at Birkenhead; we just needed a quick bite before the sailing. It wasn't perfect, but we were glad we did. The service was friendly, the vibe pleasant, and the food was ok the rice wasn't terrific, to be honest, but both the veggie satay and my duck were fine and the portion sizes were ideal.

A few weeks ago, we stumbled upon this restaurant and were impressed with the food, so we decided to go back with friends. We chose a set menu for 4, which was the same as what we had when it was just the two of us. The food was tasty, but there wasn't much more than when it was just the two of us. We felt like we were being ripped off, so we won't be returning again.

Do not waste your time at this restaurant. The hot and sour soup was lackluster and overly sweet, lacking any other flavors and meat. The appetizers were poorly warmed up and the duck pancakes were served cold. Both my main dish and my partner's had the same taste, even though one was supposed to be sweet and the other spicy. The decor is outdated and feels like it's stuck in the 1980s. Save your money and go somewhere else. Speisekarte ansehen

We preordered a takeaway for 8 people. Starters, veg spring rolls, bbq ribs and prawn toast, all very fresh and hot. The half crispy duck was excellent, very meaty, the cucumber and spring onion a little wilted but it was takeaway. The main courses were very nice and good portions including a variety of veg not just a lot of onion as some takeaways are. Staff were polite and helpful, everything was ready on time, hot and well cooked.

DO NOT eat in the King wah Chinese. Its the worst Chinese I've ever had. The hot an sour soup was a bowl of vinegar, the prawn crackers where about 4 years old. The spring rolls tasted like cigarettes, the bbq spare ribs where like nothing I've ever tasted before...not in a good way and the main meal Singapore vermicelli) was that boring I almost fell asleep eating it. Staff must know its all sh because they don't when ask if you're enjoying it because they obviously know you won't be. Don't go guys you've been warned!

We have been visiting the King Wah for many, many years. We celebrated a family birthday here in March 2023 and again the food was plentiful, well-cooked and at a very fair price. The couple who run the restaurant are wonderfully friendly people and deserve the regular business they get. Their evening banquet menu is good value and all cooked well, particularly the crispy Duck and tasty main courses. The decor in the restaurant is pleasant without being over the top and it's rarely busy outside of weekends. It's basically just no frills good, honest food that is hard to fault.
