"We stayed in a hotel a short walk away, so was able to enjoy cocktails and wine. Service was a bit slow on the first evening but they were very busy the food was good and fair value. We returned a second time, the...service was better and the food was once again up to standard. They have a nice out door seating area at the rear of the restaurant which must seat around 50 people. The inside is modern and bright."

We are at La Cantine for lunch and left very satisfied! This was our first French crepe of the trip and will not be our last. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party which spoke very little French. This is a must...stop while visiting Château-Gontier.

Still a good place for food, La Cantine has responded to their noise problem and the ambience is now so much better. The menu hasn't altered much, but the salmon steak is pretty good. We prefer La Casa, a sister restaurant, but still visit from...time to time with friends who love the steak here.
