La Cantine Restaurant

Poor food only bettered by dreadful service. Main courses before starters etc. Don't go! Ever. Go across the road to Le 2M instead.

correct restaurant. varied map, pleasant and helpful service. carpaccio and tartare, burger, pancakes. We took andouillette and carpaccio and we were not disappointed.

if we are very hungry no problem the plates are very full, but the quality is medium, the service very variable. And above all, it's very noisy! but it seems like "the place to be"

We had lunch in this restaurant with the family and had a great time ! The menu has got a lot to offer, and everything that was ordered was really tasty ! Would definitely recommend this restaurant !

We are at La Cantine for lunch and left very satisfied! This was our first French crepe of the trip and will not be our last. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our party which spoke very little French. This is a must...stop while visiting Château-Gontier.

Still a good place for food, La Cantine has responded to their noise problem and the ambience is now so much better. The menu hasn't altered much, but the salmon steak is pretty good. We prefer La Casa, a sister restaurant, but still visit from...time to time with friends who love the steak here.

We stayed in a hotel a short walk away, so was able to enjoy cocktails and wine. Service was a bit slow on the first evening but they were very busy the food was good and fair value. We returned a second time, the...service was better and the food was once again up to standard. They have a nice out door seating area at the rear of the restaurant which must seat around 50 people. The inside is modern and bright.

What else is to say that "the canteen" has become our canteen in the corner! some we have to take friends or family or just go together to taste a delicious beef tartare (the best I have tasted and it's a dish that we're sucking with my partner so we've tried in a lot of places ) it's here we're going! the staff and the manager are adorable and the dishes are of an incredible value/price! Think about booking because it's often full and we know why when we eat it once!
