"We were a group of four staying at the nearby Chateau Verrerie and this restaurant was recommended and booked by the housekeeper there. It didn't appear to be much more than a standard small-town hotel restaurant when we pulled up, so we were in for a surprise with its excellent cuisine - also the service was very good: both friendly and very professional. I had a lovely starter with green asparagus and a poached egg with sauce, apparently a local specialty (I also had it later in our holiday week at another Loire Valley restaurant). Other starters our group had were a variation of two pates and the languostina, all very good. Then we had delicious beef filet and lamb as our mains. All dishes were tastefully, but not too fussily, presented.The cheeses were brought out in a sort of secretaire desk with drawers, so much nicer than the average wheeled tray. There were several excellent Sancerre wines on the menu. HIghly recommended!"
