We didn't come to the restaurant, but we were able to taste your dishes during a wedding this Saturday. What a pleasure! Extra service! See you in your restaurant. Thanks again for this delicious meal.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a half board package which offered wonderful value for money. The food was outstanding. Plentiful too. The presentation was fantastic. The staff were amazing. So professional and well organised.

We had a perfect dinner at this (new) place. It was more than a substitute for the place where we wanted to go first. The neighboring restaurant was nearby. Happy to see La Matelote. We had a great time, from the reception, well being at the evening meal, everything was perfect. I emphasize the professionalism and attention of staff. A real happiness! Very large restaurant, several lounges compose it with a burning atmosphere, beautiful decoration. High-end staff and adventurous service. Unbelievable aromas, weddings of flavors, every dish surprises us in the desert, magistral! To be recommended, the menu of flavors! We went thunking we would have an exceptional culinary experience, given that the place had a michelin star. We were disappointed with the unrefined cuisine we were served. The amuses and bread were not very tasty. The first course was too big, and quite bland. The ‘aile de raie’ was huge, too buttery and the winter vegetables did not match well with the dish. Desert again unrefined. All in all a disappointing experience.

Having noted the often quite divergent opinions of various reviewers I was interested to see what La Matelote was offering. My view for what it is worth aligns very closely to the previous reviewer. I do not consider this to be fine dining in the Michelin sense of the word. It is a good restaurant possibly relying too much on its past but lacking in any passion for the food or the dining experience it is offering. Why would you poach skate wings when the very act of poaching has a detrimental effect on the texture of the fish. Far better grilled. Other dishes lacked the sophistication of flavours I would expect at this purported level of cuisine. If you want a good meal then it’s fine but no... Speisekarte ansehen
