"I have mixed feelngs about this restaurant, perhaps because it was not quite what I had expected. It was recommended to us by friends as a very rural restaurant in the Sierra Espuña that served game. Firstly, there is the getting there. If you or your passengers are of a nervous disposition, then this is not the place for you! The road to reach it is long, very winding and very narrow in places, which means that it is probably not a good idea for the driver to have a glass of wine with their meal, if you want to return safely. And I definitely would not want to be on any of the roads up there in the dark! The restaurant has stunning views from its terraces and you may, if you are lucky, get to see some wildlife either there or on your journey. On a weekday lunchtime in February, we dined alone, with one other family just leaving as we arrived. I was really hoping for some game, as suggested by our friends, but could not see any on their a la carte menu, so we settled for the Menu del Dia. Maybe it was just the wrong time of the year for game (I am no expert on these matters) or maybe it was just my poor Spanish! The Menu was 10€, but there was no choice of dishes; take it or leave it. As it happens, the food was actually very nice, with the usual salad, followed by stuffed peppers and then small lamb shanks with peas and sliced potatoes in a tomato based sauce. Everything was very tasty. Then we finished with a choice of 3 desserts from which we chose Almond Cream. For reasons of safety, we had only a bottle of water! If you are looking for a scenic drive, punctuated by a reasonable meal in stunning surroundings, then this may very well be just what you are looking for. If you don’t like hairpin bends with sheer drops, you should think again!"

la perdiz,up in the mountains,came across this lovely restaurant on mountain road just outside El Berro,menu del dia was great choice, stopped here again on a second day,again had great meal,chicken,fries and wonderful salad....

Good restaurant with nice views on the surroundings. Meals and tapas are good, great price-value ratio, kind waitress. They also have guest rooms. Short routes (like senda del dinosaurio) start from this area, wich is a perfect walk to do with young kids.

Despite linguistic challenges I explained we are animal lovers and therefore vegan food was the order of the day! We had a generous salad with wild asparagus then a vegan paella. Great views, good service and abundant nearby walks to burn up some calories!

Called here with friends during a tour of the Sierra Espuna The roads are challenging but very safe and the views are to die for Popped in for a late lunch and a glass of wine We had quail lollipops, wild boar with mushroom sauce and broad beans with sauce We were lucky enough to get a table outside with an amazing atmosphere and the food and drinks were delicious The lady who served us was extremely friendly and efficient Highly recommended

This lovely restaurant is in a wonderful location roads are fine if you are a good driver we were in our 7m motorhome!! The food was cooked to order and typical Spanish fare. The restaurant was very very busy on weekend lunchtimes and I would recommend a reservation as lots of Spanish drive from the surrounding towns and seaside to visit this delightful village in the national park. We order a la carte some days and menu del dia on others. We visited for breakfast, evening drinks and for a coffee as we walked by. The owner was very hospitable and it was a great place to people watch as all the local farmers stop by in the morning for a coffee, brandy or similar. Looking forward to visiting a...
