"My partner and I stayed in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for three nights at the end of a walking holiday and ate here on two out of three evenings! I had picked out L'Aparte from the Trip Advisor list of restaurants in the town as it looked interesting and likely to meet our needs - and it had the added advantage of only being minutes away from our hotel! Don't be put off by the rather unprepossessing exterior which from the road looks like some kind of cabin on the front of the building (just as in the photo). We arrived at 7.30pm the first night as we hadn't made a reservation so had no trouble in getting a table. Just as well because it soon started to fill up with locals (always a good sign). We were given a warm welcome by the proprietor who also spoke some English, although my partner speaks good French. However she was able to explain some of the dishes which helped us to make our choice. We chose two courses, my partner a starter and mains whilst I had mains and a dessert. This way we were also able to share our starter/dessert with each other! The first night my partner had the paté de campagne followed by the guinea-fowl in a pastry case. I had the home-made little ravioli stuffed with cepes in a lovely creamy sauce. Absolutely delicious! For dessert I had banofee (yum!). We shared half a bottle of red organic Luberon wine which was very good. The lady proprietor was very friendly and helpful and the service faultless. The average cost of two courses is approximately 24 euros. We had no hesitation of returning the following evening. On this occasion we asked to be inside the main restaurant as it was a bit colder. It was more like being in someone's front room in their home and quite charming and big enough for quite a few tables. Again the service was excellent and the restaurant soon filled up. This time I had the roast butternut starter which was very tasty and imaginative. For my main course I had duck with dauphin potatoes and a cepes sauce. My partner had the ravioli this time followed by a rum baba. Again we enjoyed some local red Luberon wine. Had we stayed in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue any longer (a very interesting town by the way) we would no doubt have returned to L'Aparte to try some more of their dishes! I have no hesitation of recommending this restaurant if you like good food at a reasonable price served by friendly people."
