Good service and reasonable prices. Interesting menu choice. It's also a good place to watch the world go by especially at weekends.

My friends and I had AMAZING food here after leaving the palace. We were treated kindly; everyone was friendly and they even called a taxis for us so we could return to Paris ????????????

Average eatery for Versailles, nothing special but it has all the typical stuff you'd see on any French menu and the quality meets expectations. Service is extremely gracious although speaks no English.

I stopped by for lunch, and had a fantastic Beef Bourguigon dish that was recommended by the server. Satisfying portion without being too much. Perfectly seasoned. Quaint local home cooking. Reasonably priced.

Not a gourmet place, but a number of interesting items on the menu that apparently are typical dishes of some French regions. Based on how quick it came, probably pre-cooked and coming from a microwave. Overall, a good option for an affordable lunch or dinner in Versailles.

We stopped here on a rainy day, and it was very pleasant and warm. The staff was friendly and brought us menus in English. The food was quick, and tasted pretty good. The steak tartare was well prepared, the fries on the side were very soggy. My sister had the tagliatelle and it was a bit bland. Overall good, not great. The drinks were very pricey, A small bottle of water was 4 euro.

Perfectly happy with this restaurant for an informal evening meal - arrived at 8pm and pretty much had restaurant to ourselves. Food was very good - nothing poncy or overpriced - just good and tasty.Choose Onion soup & Camembert to start, coq au vin & tuna for main, creme brûlée and Tart Tatin Flambé for desert - you won't be disappointed if you do the same.Ideal for a relaxed French meal

I didn't enjoy my experience at Le Bassin de Neptune. We ate an early lunch here after enjoying a lovely morning at the Chateau. We weren't looking for anything in particular, just something away from the train station where we assumed most of the tourist traps are. I guess we didn't walk far enough away from the Chateau, as this place was nothing special, over-priced (for the quality), and had mediocre service. My Croquet Monsieur was the worse of the three that I had during my 7-day visit in France.A trip to the men's room revealed a "junky" food prep area. Oh, and the men's toilet was just a porcelain hole in the floor; my first and only experience of that nature in France.

- Very tired on our first day in Versailles, so we went somewhere close to our hotel (The Grand Trianon) Had we of walked just a few blocks farther we would have run into the center of town filled with lots of GREAT French restaurants. - Made the mistake of eating at Neptune, go just a few blocks farther... please. It looks like a great french restaurant on the outside but on the inside it is a different story - Door to kitchen wide open revealing a "hands on" chef ( took handfuls of lettuce from a bowl onto a plate to create a "salad".
