"If you come to Provence for its laidback village cafes, its lazy lunches outdoors and its generous food, The Bistrot de Venterol is a destination for you! Every year I return for more... Today I called late to ask if lunch was still possible and was glad it was! I drove up the narrow street and parked my car on the small plaza where customers sat in the dappled shade of old plane trees, leisurely finishing their meal. The two sisters owning and running the Bistrot welcomed us in the best ways, like they do, and we settled happily around a ramekin of tasty local olives. I have a weakness for foie gras so that is what I ordered, while my friend chose a dish of melted cheese, potatoes, cured dried ham and green salad that could have been enough for two people... The service was as gentle and attentive as ever and the food was delicious. We never felt rushed even though we were their last customers after a long lunch shift and we had the most wonderful time. This place is not only quirky and whimsical inside with its unique decor of antiques and local gastronomic preserves, it is the epitome of Provence's art de vivre. If you are in the region, do yourself a favor and go enjoy its many wonders."

in this beautiful village, the bistro is very well located, with a beautiful terrace. Madame welcomes us very warmly and Mr is in the kitchen. What a treat! Bravo to both and good continuation.

we arrived at the bistro at 12.45 in time for lunch, there were 14 people outside eating in the square. we sat down, the waiter repeatedly walked past us and ignored us, eventually it fell to my girlfriend to ask why he had not come to out table( by this time we had been sitting there for 15 minutes) his reply was that he was busy and couldn't accommodate any more customers. Then WTF did he not tell us when he first saw us there ???? bad service altogether. The food might be good, but when the waiter is a crass French plebeian its sort of immaterial really
