Le Capharnaum - Speisekarte

Living here all year round I appreciate having Le Capharnaum in the village. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly and although it doesn't position itself as the best restaurant around you always get a choice of good wholesome food and wine at very reasonable prices

My fiancee and I found this lovely little restaurant almost by accident. There are signs on the main street leading you there, but it is beautifully hidden away. It has a limited menu that changes daily but the standard of fare is excellent (we are looking forward to testing all the daily offerings! . Definitely 'a go back ' venue.

Hidden away on a side street in Saint Antonin Noble Val...we had been trying to get a table here for some time but its popularity meant a full house on every occasion. Finally in the door... it proved a friendly restaurant, serving simple food very well prices are keen. Menu is not as extensive as other local eateries but offers good options.

We came across this small restaurant by chance whilst sightseeing in the village. Situated in a pleasant courtyard, the restaurant had a relaxing feel to it and was charming. We enjoyed a three course set menu lunch plus wine for €13 each. The food was simple but tasty and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Couldn’t really fault it and would go there again. Great value for money.

Tucked away in a courtyard is Le Carpharnaum. Anywhere that has a friendly cat asleep on the chair of the table of four is alright! €13 a head for 3 course meal, wine and bread. Starter choice of meat, lettuce and tomato or ham and lettuce. Then chicken and chips or duck and chips followed by a choice of desserts. With bottle of house rosé too. Pleasant staff, nice location although had to sit inside due to showers of rain!

Another pleasant surprise as we were (again) very late in seeking dinner. Down a narrow dark alleyway and into a courtyard between houses we found Le Capharnaum. The lady who served us didn 't bat an eyelid at the time and served up their 'combo special ' for the four of us; a Carafe of house wine a starter a main and dessert for very little and it was very good. The duck I had was delicious and filling. Ordinary french food made well, who could ask for more.

Do not waste your evening or money here. Do not go to this awful restaurant. Staff are unfriendly. Food is average at best, it is in somebody's back courtyard with no attempt to make it a pleasant place to eat and their idea of a cheese dessert is shown in this photo no bread or biscuits, just 3 foil wrapped pieces of cheese....., I can only assume all the good reviews are from friends or family. Apparently the restaurant is for sale so perhaps this explains the complete indifference to quality or service??

It's a bit hide, but it's part of his beauty. It's a perfect place for eat an amazing diner for a good price. There are different opcions for different amounts of hungry,so the price depends on you. The highest, if I remember it well, is about 20€ and includes first, second, dessert and a 1/4 of wine (bread and water too). I've chosen the option with 2 plates and it has been more than enough. The bread taste very good and the dish garnish was hand mashed potatoes (pleasant surprise and not very usual) The owners are very kind and the atmosphere is lovely. The service is good and quick. Perfect if you have a bit hungry. 100% recommend!!

After parking near the River Bonnette, we followed the signs to this good restaurant not located on a main walking route. While many restaurants stop seating at 1:30 this restaurant was happy to seat us close to 2PM. The waitress was kindly receptive to my poor French and spoke English when helpful. We enjoyed a three course set menu for lunch plus wine for €13 each. Our main course was tomates farcies (stuffed tomato) with small sides of rice, green beans and another vegetable. It was so good. The dessert course was chocolate eclairs or apple pie. The restaurant was modest, authentic and great value, one of our best and memorable meals on this visit to France.
