A great French experience. This little restaurant is in the heart of Brittany in the village of Maël Carhaix with it's lovely gardens just a ten minute walk away. Really good set menu lunchtime only, including starter, main course, cheese, desert, coffee, wine and a...bottle of water, phew! All for only 12.50 euros. Great local atmosphere!

Visited this restaurant while on holiday. Locarn was the nearest village to our gite. We had the menu du midi at 12.50 euros each all in. This included a starter, main, cheese and desert course and water, wine, lemonade and coffee. We the starter and...dessert were self service and the selections were varied and fresh. The main course of fish in saffron sauce was fantastic as was the home made tarte au citron. This is fantastic value for money and the ladies who served us were lovely. If you on holiday here or live in the area I would heartily recommend a visit.

le relais des sources is a fantastic facility to the village maël carhaix. they always offer good food to extraordinary trips. in this year we were allowed to visit her Christmas dinner. how they can see from the pictures. the meal included – starter, main course, cheese, accompanied by a bottle of wine. afterwards followed a dessert and a glass bubbly. coffee followed and included a small bag of chocolate. they were distinguished, and all this for only euro per head. while we live in maël carhaix, we eat regularly in le relais. we can't recommend it very much. worth a visit.

terry and I discovered le relais years ago when we visited mael carhaix. the city itself is a very honest little place. no frills approach to life, and this translates to this little jewel of an ortes. the restaurant is open only for two hours a day and is especially there to meet the needs of the workers close by. it's always busy, so get early! there is only one menu, the menu of the day. it changes every day and is always available for review outside on the chalkboard. on every table you will always find a bottle of merlot and a bottle of water and a few French brot. a typical menu would be a starter, main, cheese board (more brot) and a selection of desert. amazingly, the whole experienc...
