"I love this place and have visited many times. Gets extremely busy, so book early to avoid disappointment.Highly recommended. The restaurant is in close proximity to Berny Riviere campsite in Vic-Sur-Aisne. Just a short 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive. Family run business. Didier is lovely and his Mother too, who does all the cooking. If you visit and see how busy it is here, you will understand that she is a wonder woman! I do not know how she does it. Didier is always kept busy, with all the food orders coming in. Good choice of typical French food. (Though suitable for the English palate, if you have not had frogs and snails before!) Children are catered for. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Whatever you order, you will have a good meal. Portion size is good and filling. There is never a better choice for me than the escargots (snails) x12, the poulet creme (creamy chicken and chips) and then (glace) ice-cream for dessert. But whatever French food you enjoy, there is something for everyone. The house wine is always a good choice too! Although the spirits are reasonably priced."

"De passage à Vic-sur-Aisne pour une visite des carrières de Confrécourt, j'ai réservé dans cette hostellerie et je ne le regrette pas. J'ai pris le menu à 29 € et j'ai bien déjeuné ! Salade gourmande au foie gras maison, lotte à la Diable et assortiment de fromages. C'est un restaurant d'habitués, on y est bien accueilli malgré tout. Le service pourrait paraître un peu long pour ceux qui seraient pressés mais ça permet de s'imprégner de l'ambiance de cette belle et ancienne maison. Elle a du cachet, on est transporté dans une autre époque loin des standards modernes, froids et anonymes... Je recommande !"

"When you go out for a meal it's about the whole experience, not just the food. A party of five adults and two boys aged 9 and 7, we ate here for a treat on our last evening after a week on the park; we were not disappointed:In spite of the place being fully booked and packed to the gunnels, the service was excellent - attentive without being overbearing - and the food, coming in large portions, was delicious. Even though it was so busy, we were made to feel as though we were the only people there. The children's menu, disappointingly, is of the burgers, bolognese and chicken nuggets type, so boys looked at the adult menu and wanted the mussels. The charming and professional owner/manager suggested that as the portions were quite large, they could split an adult portion. These came in the same containers as the adult portions, so the boys were none the wiser and felt very grown up. The real highlight for us was the friendly, humorous and easy manner of the staff with the children. They made them feel very welcome, with appropriate banter and humour and the boys' efforts at a little French (and at one point Spanish!!) were accepted and encouraged without being patronising. We loved it. Highly recommended."
