Went here to meet up with Family, fantastic pub, very warm and cosy, had an amazing Sunday lunch with our son who is working here, Jason and all the team were amazing and very friendly, we will be back in the new year

Several items on the menu/specials board were not available, e.g no pastry to make pie of the day! What we were able to order came quickly and was very tasty, venison faggots were delicious. One chap was running the bar, taking restaurant orders and serving.

The Pub is under new ownership, Jason was extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was first class with service to match. I think it offers excellent value for money, there is something on the menu to suit all palettes and budgets. Pay them a visit you won't be disappointed. Speisekarte ansehen

Visited, in motorhome, stayed overnight, and ate in restaurant. Staff, service and food chosen and eaten, excellent. Many staff in attendance for the diners, which whilst we were there amounted to about 30 other diners. Considering that the ownership has changed hands only this week, faultless. When we entered there was a warm staff welcome and blazing wood stove, so plenty warm. Well done!

Met here for business well before Christmas and bought two individual drinks, later I discovered a third payment had been taken from my card. I contacted the owners by phone and at their request, emailed them a copy of my bank statement. To date, more than a month later, no reply and no explanation. My bank refuses to refund as they insist it was a contactless transaction it was taken 6 minutes AFTER I had returned to my meeting! Beware this place!

We have just enjoyed a wonderful evening with our host Jason and our waiter, Tom, supported by the beautiful Alice. The food was amazing. The home made beef and ale pie was excellent, tender meat with a rich and tasty gravy. Venison faggots were tender and served with perfect veg. Ragu was a delight so many different flavours complimenting each other perfectly. What seemed like an unusual choice of puddings were amazing they tasted home made with love and attention to detail. It's been a while since we have been out to the Lime Kiln but we definitely made the right decision tonight and we are looking forward to our next visit. Food: 5/5 Service: Speisekarte ansehen

I have known this pub since 1987 when it was owned by Bass and have frequented a lot over the years. I now live in Hampshire so my visits are not as often. However, a great guy I know, Jason Schinkel, has now taken over this fine establishment. This guy really is one of the best operators I’ve ever met. He’s run a few pubs in his time and never fails to deliver. His food is excellent, as is the welcome and service. The fire is always lit in winter and he creates a great atmosphere. It’s a great pub that oozes character, pay it a visit, you won’t be disappointed!! This pub will go from strength to strength. I can’t recommend the pub or Jason enough. Very disappointing. Had a Christmas meal booked for myself and 8 friends in their Green Room. Which is a private function room. The table was not ready for us, no cutlery or condiments. No Christmas crackers or any decorations. Very underwhelming. The food we had was OK but the Christmas dinner consisted of Turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing, pig in blanket and kale. That's it. No seasonal vegetables. When asked for vegetables we were given one bowl of mashed Swede and carrots between 9. But this arrived after we had had nearly finished. Starter OK, pudding OK. We visited your pub on Sunday 24th September 2023 for a celebratory birthday meal and had a table booked at 130pm We arrived 10 mins early and were told our table was not ready in the restaurant We were told there was no where to sit so we had to just stand by bar but we had my elderly mum so we perched her on a chair We were not offered a drink of any kind and the staff just carried on After 10 minutes we were then told our table was one in the bar which had been empty for the 10 mins was. In my view our table should have been in the restaurant but someone was still on it and now we know why Our order was not taken for another 15 mins.
