"Some young family members, who already knew the place invited us, and we had a nic table just next to the pool, while an anniversary was celebrated on the terrace. Started with a champagne and followed with a margaux both at extremely sympathetic prices, as were also the menus and the á la carte. For starters, we all had the buffet with local specialties. I guess, you either love buffets or you don 't like them at all. In general, I belong to the latter category, but it all tased comme il faut . The main dishes were on the heavy side, and I was glad I had opted for lamb chops without too much fuzz. And, as for deserts, it seemed like all of us were happy again, I opted for the simplest possible choice; three scoops of ice cream... As a food haven, it 's acceptable just a hunch above mediocricy, but the place has its own peculiar charme, and there 's something auhentic and personal about it all, which compensates for the ulinary flaws, so all in all a good experience..."

I came with my family for lunch on a warm sunny day in June. The place is outside St. Zachary, up in the hills by a narrow country road (but just a few minutes drive from town). If you don't know where you are going you'll never find it. We sat on the nice shaded terrace, in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was good, though my lack of French was a bit of a problem. The menu is in French only, and the waitress spoke little English but she tried and managed to explain what we needed. The serivice was good. The wine was good, and the food too. Felt like a home made wholesome meal.

less than 40 km from marseille, lost in the mountain of the small galibier, a family restaurant where you can receive and enjoy. wild setting: we are alone facing wooded hills. very friendly and fast service "ave the accent": one would believe in a car movie by listening to the difference between the feet and packages of sisteron and those of marseille. Provencal entrance buffet at will. Provençal specialties quality tasters. homemade dessert: cream burnt with cold-burned rum is succulent!local clientele mainly. Recommended reservation because the place is quite isolated but the gps will lead you there without problem.

"Unfortunately we felt obliged to break off our visit to the restaurant early. The staff simple has no respect or doesn’t understand the basic COVID 19 rules (the French ones that is). The staff served the food bending over our tables and the food, and halfway the evening discarding the mouth masks. For us, the limit was the cheese presentation a another table. Both the servant and the guests were bending over the serving plate with cheeses (which are served to all clients in succession) and at one moment the guests were literally coughing over the cheeses. (I know that is not directly their fault, but it is the restaurants responsibility to present and serve the foods in a safe way). Upon explaining to the patron that we wanted to leave because we did nothing feel comfortable, the showed no understanding at all. They were sincerely questioning what they did wrong. To make matters worse he came standing directly in face. I explained the social distancing rules to him, but he discarded that with the excuse that he was wearing a mouth masks. That shows that this restaurant really is not willling to understand the COVID 19 basic rules, and you will not done safely here. As for the restaurant itself when you should be planning a visit in better days: The ambiance and food is really old fashioned French and not in a good way. More in the uninspired tourist trap way unfortunately. The reviews misguided us in that sense. The location is nice. The food is not good enough though at the price they are charging (at least the part that we were able to eat). In particular the sashimi is to be avoided. The salmon was fresh, but not of the best quality (lot of stringy parts) and it was dressed in an overly sweet sauce. The kids menus (brochette with chips) were uninspired and the meat was overcooked. In the end and after some back and forth discussion we fortunately did not pay the full price of the menus we ordered and only ate 2 of 5 courses, but one can imagine that we left with a highly unsatisfactory feeling."
