The Lord Nelson - Speisekarte

This is our third visit to this restaurant and once again, it was excellent. Nelson, the owner, is dog-friendly which I appreciate, even though I don't have a dog. The fried dinner was perfect and the dessert was delicious. Overall, the experience was great. Thank you.

visited the herrn nelson with a friend in the early evening on Thursday, had the steak and ale cake, the best homemade cake ever, so much filling, veg also delicious, well made, to the chef and the young lady who served with a beautiful welcome...and smile, can not wait back

visited for Sunday dinner, visit regularly and eat is always excellent as the service. harrys 3 meat roast dinner is excellent and the gravy is just the best they will ever taste. an additional bonus today was harry's cheesecake, just one of the best...I've ever tasted (and I cost a lot of cheesecake in my time! I have visited this restaurant several times and have always been greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. I have tried a variety of dishes from the menu and have never been disappointed. Today, I tried the homemade cheese and onion pie and it was amazing. Even better than my mom's cheese pie. I will definitely be returning.

We had the most amazing food at this restaurant. I ordered the salmon and my wife had the famous cheese and onion pie. It was fantastic! The chocolate mousse was also awesome. Sasha, our server, made us feel welcome and Harry, the chef, even came to our table to make us feel special. We highly recommend this lovely pub to everyone. Well done!

Busy pub with a great atmosphere. We ordered the Sunday lunch and the beef was cooked to perfection with all the trimming including Yorkshire pudding and a selection of veg and potatoes. Service was quick and the staff very friendly. Football was on but we...were seated away from the screen and able to enjoy the company of other friends and other diners. 10 out of ten to Sasha and Harry for making our Sunday lunch into a special occasion. I was treated for Fathers Day to a Sunday dinner out, and after reviewing several pubs locally we decided on The Lord Nelson. I’ve only had the takeaway dinners from there so I really didn’t know what to expect. Wow! We were utterly blown away...by the friendly character of the place, the friendly staff and the food itself over delivered and was in a different league. We had the Three meats Sunday dinner. From the presentation to the quality of each of the ingredients, beautiful. The deserts were beautifully presented and tasted delicious too. A limited menu but what was on it was good quality … at very reasonable prices! We will be going back often.

Lovely food Highly recommend the Sirloin Steak with Harry’s sauce. We received a warm welcome and, after checking in as per Covid rules we were seated at our table. We placed a drinks order which arrived promptly and we were given time to peruse...the menu- lots of tempting dishes but we both plumped for the sirloin steak. We were not disappointed! The steak was cooked just as we ordered and the sauce was delicious. The chips were the best I have had for a long time, I often find they are too thick and have no taste, these were spot on. My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend an afternoon and evening at The Lord Nelson after travelling down from the Lake District. The building is over 350 years old and has so much character. The pub is so welcoming and there is a...wonderful family atmosphere with dogs particularly welcome. We enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch of perfectly cooked roast beef, rich buttery mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and fresh vegetables, covered by a rich gravy. It was the best Sunday roast I can remember. Later in the early evening we were able to share a drink and chat with Harry, the exec chef and Sasha who effortlessly manages the bar and front of house.
