"my man and I visited this restaurant for dinner. giovanni greeted us at the door and sat down us. the restaurant was very busy so it took a few minutes to get some water and wein. the food was incredible! we had fried squash blossoms that were amazingly followed by filet steak and roasted pork. the carrots served with the meal were divine. they tasted as if they had cooked in meat fat. Soupe and salads were expertly prepared together with fantastic dessert and of course wine. very enjoyed our experience here. I'd like to go back!"

Service and food was spectacular. Table that we were at was in a spot where there is a business event but everything was perfect. Our server made the experience really great!

Sadly the food was not up to expectations. Too salty and quite over cooked. The staff were delightful though. Ambiance rather dull compared to other wonderful restaurants we have visited in Florence.

Giovanni has been one of our favorite restaurants for over a decade. It went through a bad patch towards the end of Covid but we were happy to find that it had regained its excellence. The pici with sausage and kale, carciofi salad, maiolino and cogniglio stuffato were all excellent dishes.
