Marco's New York Italian Stratford Upon Avon

This is situated in the Mercure Stratford Hotel. The restaurant is closed. The restaurant bar area is now the only bar in the hotel and is soulless. Currently, the outside seating area is unloved and poorly maintained

My Mum and I dined here on a Groupon deal. The main course choices were very limited but Jules, the Manager made it all better for us. He was very professional and friendly and made us feel at ease, The starters were very delicious.

We enjoyed our food, especially the steak which was cooked to perfection, but the atmosphere was lacking. Staff were a little pushy tried to suggest we booked a table for the next night too, which we didn’t want to do. Enjoyable but not special enough for the price.

No pizza !! 4 things on set menu and 2 out of 4 not available. No pizza in a Italian restaurant. First told that pizza oven was broken then that they had no dough as it wasnt made on premises ... shipped in frozen !! What a disaster. Cold soup. Cold pasta. Oh dear! :

We had read the reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Silvia could not have been more attentive without being intrusive. We had a lovely evening ... good food, wine and family ... a night to remember thank you!

Crispy calamari was soggy and full of fat, no comment at all when it was taken away untouched. Medium rare steak was at best medium and in many parts well done as it was so thin. Onion rings, like the calamari was full of fat, a cooking temperature problem? Chips are cold. Wine was OK

TheMPW brand has been stretched way too far at this site. You could be eating food from any high street brand. Nothing was horrible but equally nothing to celebrate. It’s a bit like Marco went to Iceland and served up a plate of reheated food with not much thought. If Marco,”s has been anywhere near this site he should be ashamed as it doesn’t deserve his name

We were looking around for somewhere to eat one evening, fancied Italian and Marco 's Italian came up on a google search. We looked at a few google reviews which weren 't great, however I noticed a lot of issues stated pointless things like 'they used too much tomato puree ' or 'the pasta was over done '. I know from experience of working in pubs and restaurants that those sorts of complaints are from people who just like to complain! So we decided to give it a go and had a lovely meal! I would recommend a visit and ignore the other snobby reviews.

We reserved our table on a Friday night at 8pm. We expected the restaurant to be busy but there were only two other diners, which is strange as this is a top tourist attraction and considered by many as the jewel in the crown of Warwickshire. The restaurant is boutique style and compact and bijou. The leather dining chairs are extremely comfy and speaking as someone with arthritis these things matter! This is a beautiful building and worthy of a tourist photo or two! Quirky and wonky like you would expect from a typical timber framed Tudor building and so quintessentially olde world English.
