"Mattacena’s menu uses the same symbol for vegan and vegetarian, so it was a little difficult to figure out what we could and could not eat. Their chef makes fresh pasta was eggs, so most of the pasta dishes are not vegan aside from a spaghetti dish that specified “dried pasta,” the gnocchi, and the risotto (which you would have to order without the Gorgonzola, which our waitress said would probably not be good), and a vegetable tortino. I got the gnocchi which was fine, but not the most flavorful. They do have an English menu, which was helpful. The staff was also very friendly!"

Traditional Trattoria food. Vegan choices aren't marked on the menu, but the waitress was well aware and could point them out to us. We had pasta with mushrooms and ribollita. Portions for 1 are HUGE, I strongly advise to get half a portion.

Vegan and vegetarian options had the same symbol. A giant fridge filled with large chunks of animal carcass directly in the doorway. I was unable to eat here because the glorification of meat made me sick. Perhaps for plant-based people less of an issue, but it definitely didn’t work for me. Speisekarte ansehen

Alla mia richiesta se i porcini fossero freschi mi è stata portata la cassa di funghi appena puliti. Presi.........Ottimi con pappardelle e pure fritti.Ottimo menu ampio e completo.....tipico toscano ma anche strett food e piatti rivisitati.Panino con filetto salsa verde e chips eccellente....un burro il filetto. Dessert squisito con cantucci vin santo e crema di mascarpone. Conto veramente onesto applicato sconto the fork.Cordialità e servizio veloce.Consigliatissimo

Mattacena è stata un'ottima scoperta. Il ristorante è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi da tutti i punti principali di Firenze. La location è molto carina e l'idea di comporsi da se l'antipasto l'ho trovata davvero innovativa, nella sua semplicità. Le materie prime sono davvero ottime, il menù offre un'ampia scelta sia di piatti che di vini e considero quelli che abbiamo preso noi molto buoni. L'accoglienza da parte del proprietario ed il servizio di tutto lo staff sono stati eccezionali. E' certamente un posto che consiglio a tutti. stelle meritatissime!
