Mr Todiwala's Petiscos

I visited this restaurant for the first time last night and I was quite pleased with the food, wine, and the attentive staff. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely be back. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60

What a fantastic restaurant. Great menu. Fantastic food. Wines to fall in love with. Beers that I can only dream about. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the food, the wine etc. I cannot talk highly enough about this amazing restaurant. I and woman have just returned from a beautiful evening in this fabulous restaurant. the ambiente was loved for a Saturday night, eating was simply incredible together with the wein too. attentive staff and the owner steve was a joy when they happen to follow in the buckhurst hill area they do not follow the crowd, they make this aim I guarantee that they will not be disappointed. I and my wife can't wait to visit again.

Excellent experience. We were made immediately very welcome and Steve and Armando hope I got his name correct) were great. Very helpful and informative. The food itself is excellent. My wife and I like the idea of several smaller portions to share which resulted in no wasted food, and no overeating feelings. Exceptional! Don’t be deceived by its casual café vibe; this place offers truly extraordinary food served in a small plate style. Two of the simplest dishes were the best I’ve ever tasted. The coleslaw was incredible—absolutely outstanding. The melt-in-your-mouth beef bowl had exquisite spices and a delightful afterkick. I only wish I could have afforded to sample the entire menu. The place is amazing! Cosy and well decorated! Muito simpático! The staff is very nice, Steve knows Portugal very well and has a fabulous taste and knowledge on Portuguese wines. The fusion between Portuguese food and Goan is wonderful! Being from Portugal and having family from Goa, I have the authority to say it 's like eating at my cuisine 's, and there 's nothing better then food that takes back home. Petiscos is a Portuguese word for small plates, but I assure you that you will feel satisfied. Dine like if you were from Portugal! Appetizer plate with Portuguese wine or Super Bock (best Portuguese beer) dessert coffee (expresso) cheirinho Madeira wine or Oporto wine.

I visited this Portuguese/Goan fusion restaurant for a work event, and I didn't know what to expect. The first dish that arrived was some delicious pita bread accompanied by a fantastic olive mix that I thoroughly enjoyed. When the small tapas plates came out, I found them to be absolutely delightful. It was enjoyable to sample a variety of small dishes and discover how well the flavors complemented one another. I especially loved the meatballs, spicy shrimp, and chicken legs. For dessert, I had the chocolate ice cream, which was totally decadent. Additionally, I appreciated how attentive the owner was to our needs, and the staff was all very accommodating. This is definitely a place to take...

Simply the best. If I had to only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be Mr Todiwala's prawn dumplings, but everything my partner and I've eaten there over half a dozen or so visits has been truly delicious. Looking at the other reviews, I'm surprised to see some people complaining about the size and relative price of the dishes. Petiscos are Portuguese tapas style dishes, so you are meant to share several plates among the table. Personally I think the prices are very reasonable, but I will happily pay for great quality anyway.
