And then we found this little place “under” Place Massena… Right, it’s in a basement Parking.Don’t let the simple interiors fool you. Mrs and Mr Patel will serve you what is arguably the most authentic and tasty North Indian food in Nice. They start preparing the dishes after taking the order, ensuring it is fresh. They informed us that vegetarian dishes are cooked in separate vessels and even spoons are not interchanged. This can hardly be expected anywhere out of India. During one of our visits, we ordered one too many. But, Patel waited discreetly before serving our last main. Turned out that we were full even with what was already served. While the restaurant is almost empty most of the time, they were continuously delivering takeaways. Yet the husband and wife would take the time for a friendly little chat, as any good Indian host would.Five stars to the enterprising couple and their little restaurant."

It was hard to find, even with the tripadvisor remarks, but finally we arrived in a authentic looking Indian restaurant. A little one, only with a few tables. We were served by a friendly waiter/owner/cook, as I believe this was a one man show.We had a very nice tikka massala, and the garlic nan was very tasteful. The lassi was a bit to heavy, almost buttermilk. We were pleasantly surprised and we hope that other people find their way to this restaurant as well!

We had authentic Indian food after a long time and thanks to this gem of a restaurant. We tried chicken tandoori and dal fry at our first visit. And every bite of it was tasty. The dal was thick and so rich. On our second visit we had chicken tikka masala with butter Naan. The naan were soft and the chicken was cooked to perfection. We also had samosas that made us miss home-cooked food back in India. Do not let the small backdrop of the restaurant mislead you, this is undoubtedly the best Indian cuisine you will have in Nice.
