"Appena entrati avverto già di star bene: piccolo locale in architettura in pietra tipica del luogo, con archi ed arredi semplici ma di buon gusto. Siamo stati accolti dalla proprietaria con fare garbato e disponibile. Piatti semplici della tradizione e piccole sorprese tra gli antipasti della casa davvero buoni (da provare assolutamente); segnalo l’arrosto misto con ottime bombette, una specialità tipica cistranese, e l’agnello con cottura perfetta! Da ritornarci per provare le altre bontà elencate nel menù."

"This is one of the many fornelli common in Cisternino..not all are open on Sunday so we tried Vicolettta. The butcher shops have an osteria next door with a traditional brick oven where the meat is cooked. You choose the meat at the butcher, get a table, order the wine, antipasti, and vegetables....this is like eating at home. We chose a huge veal cutlet, bone in, Bombette , and some rolled meat with spicey sausage inside. The wine was local (2.50euros a liter), the vegetables were baked smashed potatoes heated in the fornello, marinated (and wonderful) eggplant and artichokes. The meat was as tender as any I have had in Italy. It 's simple food and nothing fancy so go here for the experience, keep your expectations in line, your nose situated at its normal level, and have an experience you won 't get anywhere else. Plenty of fornelli to choose from in Cisternino. I give it four stars for the experience more than the food. Still we were satisfied. Good value/price ration, too. Families will be just fine here."

"Jole and and her team welcomed us and our dogs for an early sitting on a Saturday night. Attentive staff, Alessandro and Giulia treated us to excellent service, great menu suggestions and spoke English too well for us to practice our Italian as much as we'd have liked. From beginning to end we enjoyed every mouthful. Accompanied by interesting beers and fresh herbal iced tea. How such great vegan food comes out of Joke's tiny kitchen is a miracle of planning and skill, but the quality of the food outstrips all the much larger restaurants we have tried in the region. When I eat out I like something I couldn't or wouldn't think of cooking at home, and that's what we got at Micro. Figs on toast bagels with vegan soft cheese, vermicelli in soy, tahini- dressed salad sounds nowhere near as good and interesting as it actually was. Trust me. If you don't eat meat, and even if you do, this is an essential place for you to visit."
