Olde Red Lion, Market Bosworth

Nice old pub in a great Leicestershire village Market Bosworth just a short drive from the Battlefield. Nice clean and comfortable rooms excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Lots of parking.

I was staying at the hotel a couple of minutes walk away where there was a 90 wait for food, so gave this a go, wasn’t disappointed, friendly staff, tasty food which arrived quite quickly and there was a good atmosphere. Would recommend

Staff were really friendly and approachable upon arrival and were very attentive towards gluten free requirements. We enjoyed oour main courses that much that we couldn't leave without finishing with a nice hearty dessert to send us on our way. Speisekarte ansehen

Whilst on a canal boat holiday, we decided to stop off for dinner , walked from the Canal to the Olde Red Lion, staff were very friendly, accommodating a party of 6 adults and 2 children almost immediately, varied menu, food was served quickly and very tasty, as well as reasonably priced, would highly recommend

Four of us looking for somewhere to eat on an Monday evening in Market Bosworth, found that the Red Lion did food on a Monday so tried them out. Excellent experience. Pub busy. Food excellent quality and price, rump steak good butcher and well cooked. Service good from the moment we walked in many thanks for a great experience

Very friendly staff fantastic service and awesome food. Just had one of the best steaks ever in this lovely British pub. Staying at the Boswell Hall Hotel round the corner by the walk to this pub was well worth it. Can’t fault it at all and clearly very popular with the locals oh and they do real ale as well. Decided to have lunch in Market Bosworth, and decided on Ye Olde Red Lion. We had a choice of lite lunch or the full menu, as well as a specials board, so a wide choice. We both had fish chips and peas, one from lite lunch and one from main menu. Both were lovely. Obviously bigger fish and more chips on main dish, but my wife was more than happy with the smaller option. Wide choice of beers and ciders(3). Very good prices compared to other venues and the staff were very friendly.

Comfortable country pub in the beautiful town of Market Bosworth. Located on the Main Street close to centre the place has a welcoming atmosphere with traditional furnishings. There is a seated dining area to one side and less formal tables in the remainder where you can enjoy a dink and something to eat. Round the L-shaped bar there’s and elevated seating area where I enjoyed food whilst watching the midweek football. The menu is limited and the food reasonable for pub grub, served quickly by the friendly staff. All in all, worth a visit.

We stay at Market Bosworth regularly and always ensure that we eat at the Olde red lion in the evening. It’s a lovely little pub with friendly staff and friendly locals; you don’t feel intimidated walking through the regulars because they’re all polite anyway. I ordered gammon with a fried egg last night, which was served with chips and peas; I couldn’t finish it at all because the portion was so generous! My husband had a big rump steak (I think it was 12 oz) and again, that was served with chips and peas, as well as mushroom and tomatoes, and he was really impressed.
