"The Orchid of Siam, located within The Swan, is a unique combination of a steakhouse and a Thai restaurant. My sister-in-law selected this spot for her birthday dinner, as we all enjoy Thai cuisine (except for my picky father-in-law, who appreciated the steak option). The menu is extensive, featuring two separate menus—the Thai menu alone is quite impressive. I chose a ginger chicken dish and shared sides of pad thai and steamed rice with the group. While we waited for our food, we were served prawn crackers as a light appetizer. The food was enjoyable! I typically love ginger dishes, and this one was delightful, generously accompanied by vegetables. For dessert, I ordered a black sundae (I believe that was its name), which allowed me to choose my ice cream or sorbet (I picked raspberry) and it was topped with black cherries. The dessert was also delicious, and the portion size was just right. I would definitely return to this restaurant!"

My sister-in-law chose it for her birthday dinner, as we all enjoy Thai food (except for my rather picky father-in-law, who preferred steak). "I’m writing this review primarily to highlight the exceptional service provided by a young waitress at this establishment. On Sunday, June 11th, our walking group arrived at the Swan later than anticipated, feeling hot and thirsty due to the warm weather. From the moment we arrived until we left, this young lady went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. She had a remarkable ability to anticipate our needs before we had to ask. Her demeanor was sharp, friendly, and incredibly efficient. She maintained a positive attitude, bringing us multiple jugs of iced water along with various soft and alcoholic drinks. She took our orders accurately on the first try, delivered everything simultaneously, and checked on us regularly, treating us with a level of attention and care that I've rarely experienced elsewhere. I would hire her in a heartbeat; she is a fantastic example of immense potential. The food was also quite good, but the service truly stood out. Thank you for the excellent experience!"

"My daughter and I had another tasty roast dinner today. We had Roast Beef and Roast Pork with Cauliflower Cheese. Served by Danny and Faye who were most lovely hosts and made us very welcome. The Sunday roast (2 for £20) is a great deal with roast potatoes parsnips carrots cabbage homemade Yorkshire pudding and gravy. My only criticism is allowing dogs in the area where people are eating! I had to bite my tongue when witnessing other diners feeding their dog from their plates. I get that this is a dog friendly pub and am happy to see dogs included, just not where you are eating. Perhaps I’m in the minority? Anyhow, 3 cheers to the staff and the chef."

"Today we went for lunch with our friends Lin and Mike, who live nearby. We are also named Lin and Mike and we live near Dartford. The restaurant is a charming country pub with friendly staff who welcomed us warmly. We were glad we made a reservation as the place was quickly filling up with hungry customers. The ladies ordered pie, Mike had fish and chips, and I indulged in the Big Boys Pudding! Despite the large portion, I managed to finish it and the attentive staff checked on us throughout our meal. All of our dishes were delicious and very filling, but we couldn't resist getting four desserts to share. It was a lovely lunchtime spent with our friends and we will definitely be returning as we highly recommend this delightful place to everyone. "The pub is remote. Not easy to find. The room was comfortable, clean with good en suite. We were charged £20 more than originally advertised The staff in the evening were friendly , helpful and attentive. Food was adequate but not homemade or great value. The breakfast was disappointing. Service was not great we had to ask for everything. If 3 dishes contain poached eggs then it is a good idea to get a chef that can cook them. The yolks were solid and the white rubbery. such a shame as looked lovely. No toast!!! Upon checking out they managed to find something they had 'missed ' off our bill that was settled the previous night. Would not recommend and won 't be returning. I know it is dog friendly but for a place serving food there should be some areas that are dog free for those that are not dog fanatics."

"We stayed at The Wagon Horses for a Motorhome stop over very good facilities . The meals we had were absolutely fabulous and home cooked i had the belly of pork in hoisin sauce it was tasty and the pork melted in your mouth. my husband had homemade steak kidney pudding the meat was lovely . staff were welcoming and the pub was modern inside clean. We wish you was nearer to where we live we diffidently would be in regularly. What a great chef !! Thank you."
