"If you’re looking for a great place to have a coffee, snack or meal, look no further that Rosso Lounge Cafe Bar on the High Street, Biggleswade. I’ve been a regular customer since the beginning of the year, so my review is well overdue! Rosso’s decor is querky yet comfortable with a mix of furniture, pictures and a very large duck collection which shouldn’t work but it does! The drinks/food are delicious and fairly priced. All customers are greeted warmly including parents with small children and customers with their doggie companions. The staff are professional, hardworking and friendly, especially under pressure when they are exceptionally busy. A big shout out to the lovely Fayley, Izzie and Catherine and also to Lenny who all welcome me with a smile and a catch up each and every time I visit (almost daily). Also another shout out to the new staff (Hannah, Dani and Lucy) who have all been training and doing a fantastic job (sorry if I missed anyone out). I’m very much looking forward to my next visit which is likely to be tomorrow."

"After getting it being recommended to us, we visited the Biggles Lounge as part of the continuing Curry Tour. We visited on ‘Banquet Night’ purely by accident, but decided to take advantage of the ‘deal’. The mandatory Onion Bhajis were to be honest, disgusting. They were literally served on a pool of oil. What they lacked in taste, was certainly made up in greasiness. I managed to eat one and left the other. Not a good start. Main courses were OK – nothing outstanding, nothing special and nothing to return for. The highlight of the evening was the comedy cheese naan! It was absolutely hilarious and still makes us laugh. It was a normal naan with a bit of grated cheese on top! Possibly the worst, if not the funniest naan we have experience on tour. Despite the recommendation to us, we cannot recommend the Biggles Lounge. We fail to understand how others have found the Biggles Lounge to be apparently so good... ...it struggled to be average at the very best in our opinion. However, if you want a good laugh, order one of their cheese naans! So, so funny!"

"As you'll see from my review history, I very very rarely post a bad review except in exceptional circumstances. This was one of these. I was expecting a lovely three course meal in a cosy pub out of London, based on the reviews. We were looking for a bit of a treat, as I was catching up with an old colleague (of a charity we both worked for) and her partner (CEO of a Mental Health charity). However I was severely dissappinted and appalled at how they treated us. The barman was gracious on arrival but the waitress who served us (couldn't have been much over 16) was absolutely clueless and seemed to not care about her job or the customers under her service. She was clueless about the menu when queried and kept having to nip off to the kitchen to ask, whilst giving us strange looks for having questions about the food/ breads/ menu. We felt judged, immediatly. When the food finally arrived we had ordered a sharing Camembert. The camembert was delicious but the bread it came with was burnt, unevenly sliced and looked, quite simply, like it was from the bottom of the barrel. Why the chef thought that exceptable to serve I have no idea. Not a good start. Next I had a vegetarian main (curry with cauliflower rice), from a very limited veggie menu. Quite frankly, it was bland. I make much better at home. When chased, the service was rude and the landlady/ manager was abrupt with us for having some issues, despite us being warm and kind to her always giving the pub the benefit of the doubt. I was not even offered a dessert menu. Finally, the ambience was soul sucking. It was quiet and joyless, like eating in an old folks home. In fact some people near us got told to quieten down, despite it being early on a Saturday evening. Just such a shame that the staff and food don't live up to the hype. Genuinely would not recommend this place to anyone. Not worth your time, energy. Vegetarian options: Poor. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"We had a fantastic meal last night! The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. We were really full, but we just had to share an ice cream that reminded me of the village in southern Italy where my mother grew up. The atmosphere was lovely and not too loud, making for a wonderful evening. We’re coming back today for a cannoli since we didn’t have room for it yesterday. Wishing you all the best, Nonno Joe’s!"

"I have lived in Bedfordshire for 26 years and have always found that you could not get good Cod and Chips between Coventry and London with all fish and Chips shops visited over the years providing bland battered cod with skin still on and what I believe to be frozen due to lack of taste and texture. However I have since discovered Sheff's in Biggleswade and it is a Fish and Chip shop Oasis in a desert of mediocrity. Thick white chunky cod everytime I order with no skin on and beautifully cooked, crispy batter, tasty chips and all nicely presented in a box. Curry sauce tastes just like you find in the Midlands and up North. I live around 6 miles from the shop but will make the round trip and drive past 4 other bland fish and chip shops on the way. Keep up good work guys, highly recommend!"
