"For me this review is difficult to write because Porto Vecchio has potential but it just did not deliver and we were a bit disappointed in the whole experience. The restaurant is located directly on the lake with a beautiful view and you feel nestled...away from the bustling promenade. When we arrived and were seated we right away ordered an Aperitivo. As we waited we thought they might bring some bread or nuts anything for the Aperitivo but nothing was brought at the table That was the first disappointment. After we ordered we were served an amuse bouche or a wanna be It was a small dish with unseasoned cous cous with some salad and a very salty leaf yes just 1 of green chard spinach.. Our appetizers were of nice portion however the Sarde in Carpione were too acidic and was difficult to finish because the flavor was too strong. The Pesce Persico was fried to perfection but was lacking on the plate the green homemade apple mayonnaise. My vegetable flan tasted too much of pepper, unfortunately if there were any other vegetables I could not taste them. The presentation was good but the taste not 100% on point. We were in 3 and we ordered 2 mains to share, the Coda di Rospo wrapped in Bacon on a bed of cream potatoes. The taste was definitely different and I must say it worked, I enjoyed it but it finished too soon as this portion was extremely small. The Coda di Rospo (Monkfish) had a big bone in the middle, the chef needs to take in consideration that 1/2 of the fish is bone, the cut should be a bit bigger than what they served. Dessert was nothing special, the mille feuille could have been fluffier and softer with a tastier chantilly cream. When it was served it was really hard to cut..I am very picky on that dessert as I make it myself at home and I can say honestly mine is better. Overall it was an average dinner and very very expensive for what we had, we enjoyed the view but would not go back for that amount. You can have a better meal and for less."

had a lot of dressed among us. meat and truffle was dry and cold and did not serve to order. pasta so-so. pizza terrible. well. rest uninterested. overpriced. only the location was good. but they forget that people live here and come back. they should not think that everyone is a tourist.

we were here to keep too late for lunch at 15 o'clock. first, the outside seat on the water is amazing, feels far from the lively promenade. beautiful selection of diners, all liked their dishes (we had pizza, pasta, fish). I got the half. full on the “bruschetta crudo” starter, it was huge and beautiful, but manages the pizza afterwards. and the prices are very reasonable with the other restaurants we visited.

as others have said, the location and the ambiente is excellent and it is away from the main eating strip. the wein was excellent, but a bit warm/breasted. the waiters are either not or exaggerated. the tiramisu was delicious. in between, our nets, of the truffle summer specialties were unfortunately unsounded and blanching. it is expensive, but if they are Swiss, not so shocking. go for the location and a simple salat and glass wee.

I went there with one of our guests and had a lovely meal, service was a bit slow but it is normal as it was a Sunday and on a Sunday there is the weekly market which is lovely but of course packed with tourists,...they even come from the german speaking part of Switzerland for the day so service can be a bit slow in all the restaurants in Cannobio. I only have one complaint: coperto 4 euro per person, that was a bit too much, never paid that anywhere before. All in all it was a lovely warm day, great atmosphere and the food was delicious.

Cannobio is, in my opinion, the best town in the Lago Maggiore and this is the place to have dinner. Just across the hotel Cannobio, and pat of it, has a fantastic outdoor setting on the lake. A fantastic view, and a very romantic setting...for dinner, especially in the summer where the lights on the lake are ever-changing. The menu is limited but the food was excellent, from the various pastas to the superbly prepared lake fish. But the best was a zabaglione made from scratch at the table: divine. Good wine list, outstanding service, reasonable price for the food and the setting.

We were dining in the corner of restaurant Porto Vecchio at the boulevard. We were six ppl. We ordered a pizza, 3 lasagna, a spaghetti and two cannelloni. They started to serve the spaghetti. About 5-10 min later the pizza came and one lasagna. Again...10 mins later the rest came, but not the last lasagna. The waitress then said there were only two lasagna left. So we had to choose another dish. We ordered another cannelloni that came 20 mins later. In that time of 20 mins we saw that she forgot the change and that's why we had to wait. Another waitress wanted to take our plates away while one person hadn't had his meal. No excuses came. No coffee offered. No reduction. Niente. Do not go the...

My husband and I had a very nice dinner at Porto Vecchio, sitting outdoors at a table along the lake. Our dinner was very good and we do not understand why there are only mediocre reviews, at best. It was a bit pricey, portions rather...small (okay with us), but of good quality and lovely presentation. It was a bit chilly for eating outdoors so the staff provided us with blankets to put over our shoulders. A nice touch. We had an amuse bouche of tomato slice with a soft cheese and a square of toast with lardo.Expensive appetizers were porcini mushrooms in garlic sauce which we both had for 24 euros each. But delicious. I had a dish of 4 cannelloni and husband had a dish of penne in vodka sau...
