"A friend booked this restaurant a week earlier for 11 of us to have a meal before watching a performance in the square, we were booked for 7pm allowing us one and a half hours to eat. My friend even went over at 6pm on...the night to confirm everything was ok and was told yes no problem. When we all arrived at 7pm there was no table, after a little discussion an apology was made and we were seated 15 minutes later. We eventually ordered and our food finally arrived at 8.20 when we should have been taking our seats for the show. Food was nice enough but we had to rush so no desserts etc. My friend explained to the owner we were not happy with the experience but they were not interested in admitting fault or compensating in anyway. Definately would not recommend this restaurant and I dont think they deserve their position in the beautiful square."

Visited the city on a quiet non-market day and Pourquoi Pas? was a beautiful place for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly. Recommended.

This was our first visit to Belves and was dependent on having a light lunch instead of a full place of Jour. We chose an omelet that, in my opinion, was cooked for perfection. Would return to Belves

very friendly, I was alone at lunch and didn't feel alone, which is rare (you are usually treated as negligible quantity). Tasty foie gras plate and cheese plate. Very good value for money.a recommend.

If you go to a dordogne, don't hesitate to make a stop in this charming restaurant where the map is short because it is only used for quality fees. the menu at 16,50€ is of excellent value for money. the reception and the unreproachable service. We'll go back.

tourist places where we are taken for gogos. here is all the opposite: kindness, smiles, good and generous costs, sweet prices. All this still exists in the perigord! and as I am vegetated, the omelette with fresh ceps, raspberry vinegar salad at 14€, it's just happiness!

passing after the tower of the city we the boss opened the restaurant part in the middle of the afternoon so that we can be quiet with the stroller. the terrace was full and the restaurant in the middle of a 16h rush was very nice of him. Moreover the staff was very welcoming and pro despite being overflowed. then the pancakes was good with good products for a stopover in the afternoon I recommend it

Called in following TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed. Pleasant table on the terrace with view of square where preparations were in full swing for the Marche Gourmand Nocturne. Went for menu due Jour, two terrines with salad, rumsteak with dauphinoise potatoes and a red wine and shallot sauce followed by creme caramel. Partner had the local salad with foie gras and magret de canard followed by coffee gourmand (espresso with three desserts, a mini creme brulee, macaron and strawberry soup). Pleasant service and good cheap wine. Worth a visit.

If you have a group of 10 no reservation at the end of the market day for a late lunch and it is suddenly an incredible rainstorm You're GOOD! Super friendly service honestly with us to say that they needed to check with the kitchen so that they can offer us the complete menu. We sat outside, but a burning rainstorm sent us to the house where a table was ready for us! Fantastic especially when we had 4 children with us. Would have been nice to stay outside as it is in the central place. Nice lunch and we loved the chips not frites just to be clear like game chips for British readers). We had milkshakes, Crepes, Croques, Omelettes. My parents recommend the café gourmand and creme brulee. With...

"Twenty years ago we were staying on a campsite with our three children and. Ame here as a last night treat we have never forgotten that meal, the food was amazing and the setting bliss. The chikdren played down by the small stream between...courses and the night was bliss. Twenty years later we have managed to return, we booked into the auberge for five nights on a four week tour of France. Natalie the owner has had the auberge for teety five years, but has extended, improved, added hotel rooms, however the place is still as idyllic and the food is still out of this world. It is beautifully presented without being pretentious and with a portion size that is not too small as you somtimes find with this presentation. The goats cheese salad, goats cheese so tangy, fresh, walnuts came alive in your mouth due to freshness and quality. Muse bouche everyday so delicious, gazpacho, saussicon with honey, tiny. Melt in the mouth quiche. Mains equally superb, duck served in a crispy, chinese casing with breast and a sauce, I willl dream about and try to relroduce. Last night a tomato millefieulle was a culinary delight, layered with crab, smoked salmon, and avocado. Puddings have been superb and The profiteroles my husband ordered 20 years ago were still devine. Every night the restaurant is busy but Natalie tries to accomodate all. Recommend you book. We are on a demi pension so we have a set meal each night, this may be difficult in som restaurants but not here as everything on the menu has been so good. Wines have been fab too and extremly reasonable. House carafes so cheap. Hopefully we can return to the Dordogne sooner. If we lived nearby we woukd come very often."
