"Having spent £1000's at this establishment. Its rather somewhat sad to report that one has reached the end of one's tether ! Over many previous visits, its been one of almost having to beg for what should be standard polite customer service. One is often made to feel either apologetic. Or having to accommodate the owners children, as they seem to have free reign of the bike frame, the pub grounds ! Disturbing the peace desperately sought by those funding the establishment ! But tonight's experience was the straw that broke the camels back ! HAIR IN THE FOOD !!! Serious because my son immediately felt sick. As did I !!! My son having taken insulin (type one diabetes) for the food. Needed to eat immediately to avoid a 999 scenario ! In panic we explained the situation to the staff. Alas, as in previous situations there wasn't any forthcoming compensation, or immediate help ! Other than waiting still paying for a meal !!! Which forced us to take alternative action elsewhere ! I've a video that shows my poor son pulling the hair from his mouth, whilst Pulling at the food in the bowl ! I've tried to upload it without success. Maybe it's for the best. As the sight would result in others feeling rather unwell ! Regards to all. Lord w"

Best pub in christendom. Going there nearly 50 years and it's evolved gracefully without losing any traditional atmosphere or quality. The owners/ licensees deserve great credit

Just had a lunch here after a long walk. We had soup, sandwiches and beer all of which was totally delicious and very good value for money. The pub has a nice cosy interior and is full of character. Highly recommended!

I think that my title says it all. Great location in a quant village. Quiet and unassuming with a good crowd of locals. A proper find for my partner and I. Try the pie if available or the ploughman’s. The beef was sensational with the ploughman’s. Speisekarte ansehen

This place is like an archetypal country pub. Open fire, cask ales from the cask, rooms with nooks and crannies etc etc The food on offer is pretty basic. Sandwiches, dripping on toast and soup graded by colour. Great for lunch, a shame we were looking for a hot cooked meal. Worth a visit though

Popped in last week as we have always passed it but never been inside for a drink. Lunchtime and we were the only ones in. Ordered our ales and a sandwich each 1 ham and 1 salmon. Well, we had to go to the bar and pick it up and were greeted with two lovely big baskets with knapkins and nestled inside were our sandwiches. £4.50 each for two medium slices of bread with fillings. It would not be so bad if there had been a small garnish or crisps!

The Queen's Head is pub heaven. The building has barely been touched by the 21st century, the food is simple but tasty, the beer is wonderful and the staff more old school than gushing. I'm lucky to be able to walk here from the next village so I was able to enjoy the beautiful Nelson's Revenge beer. I tried the Chicken liver pate for the first time it was very very tasty though I could have done with a bit more toast. Visiting the Queen's Head is like stepping back time. Its dark and moody and completely unspoilt and absolutely stunning. Speisekarte ansehen

My wife and I travel a lot around the UK in our caravan and we visit lots of country pubs and I can honestly say that the Queens Head is the best, most friendly pub I have ever been in. We took my Aunt, who lives nearby, for a lunch of soup and sandwiches. The soup was terrific, it was really tasty and the sarnies were great too. The young waiter was a very polite young man and he happily accommodated my aunts request for a side salad. My wife and I went back for drink that evening and we chatted with the owner, who was very friendly. We also chatted with a few local regulars and it was just really nice. I cannot recommend that you visit the Queens Head highly enough, it wont disappoint!

Working out in the sticks in Cambridgeshire, It was a friday and I'd got my work done for the day fairly early so decided to treat myself to a pub lunch at the Queens Head. Despite initially looking closed due to the roof being refurbished the pub was infact open for business and gradually became quite busy. For dinner there was a limited select menu consisting of soup or sandwiches. I went with the soup which was some sort of vegetable concoction that contained some interesting/ unusual ingredients, tastes and textures, although I couldnt quite put my finger on what they were. The slab of granary bread it was served up with was also quite a formidable feat of baking. I did feel a bit of an...
