Restaurant Simi - Speisekarte

Stopped on the way down from the mountain and the four of us ordered carrot soup and pasta. The pesto was superb as was the carrot soup. Sit out on the deck on a nice day or the cozy indoors to get out of the rain. Love it!

We recently spent a week skiing in Zermatt with our British friends. Bergrestaurant Simi has long been a favorite of theirs. We had lunch there three days. The Rosti is a very hearty meal, but my favorite is the lasagna. It is without question the best I've ever had. On our final day Stephan treated us to a hot apricot liqueur that is to die for. Lunch at Simi was the highlight of the trip. We hope to get back someday.

I shouldn't be writing this as the place is already hugely popular and you can easily see why. The staff are organised, hard-working and polite. The food and beverages all top quality - even the relatively cheaper items are very very good. Of course, being Zermatt, nothing is ever cheap compared to the real world, but I would call this average for Zermatt and like so many Swiss establishments one pays for quality, and one gets it. Dieses Restaurant ist wahrscheinlich die beste Option zum Essen rund um Furi und bietet herzhafte, perfekt zubereitete Gerichte. Das Schnitzel war dünn und groß, wie es sein sollte und war vielleicht das beste, das ich außerhalb Wiens gegessen habe. Man kann es auch mit Pommes essen, aber da ich die Wahl hatte, habe ich stattdessen Spätzle genommen. Auch das dazugehörige Ratatouille war wirklich lecker. Als Nachtisch gab es natürlich einen Apfelstrudel, perfekt auch. Die Lage ist großartig, die Aussicht schön und der Service tadellos. Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Simi liegt etwas abseits der Furi-Seilbahnstation, war aber ein toller Ort für eine Mittagspause auf dem Weg zwischen Matterhorn Glacier Paradise und Gornergrat. Die Portionen sind groß und das Essen ist lecker, reichhaltig und sättigend. Meine Frau und ich teilten uns einen gemischten Salat und bestellten unser eigenes Hauptgericht, zu dem jeweils ein Rösti (Schweizer Rösti) gehörte. Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass wir nicht genug gewandert waren, um es uns zu verdienen. Das 500-ml-Bier war kalt, lecker und erfrischend, aber ich habe es definitiv gespürt, als wir den Gipfel am Gornergrat erreichten. Vorbehalt, Bibitor.

We booked the evening dining event well in advance of our trip to Zermatt for a special birthday event. We went up the cable care not knowing what to expect from the evening. When we reached the top lift station we were met by Stefan (the manager) who walked us back to the beautiful chalet. We were the only guests that evening which made the evening even more special. Stefan was a superb host and the food was exquisite. the evening will stick in our memories for a very long time thanks to the surroundings, staff and food. Two of us had the Lasagne, one had the Spaghetti with tuna fish and one the warm salad with goats cheese. The children shared a Simiteller. All were very good. We had glasses of the house Heida which was at the correct temperature and was fresh and tasty. The apfelstrudel was really good and those that like pinenuts and a chunky fruity version of apfelstrudel will enjoy it. Some of the dishes seemed to be priced a little on the high side particularly the Simiteller. The bread continues to be excellent (being from Café Fuchs). The first time I ate here, I was amazed by the quality of the food --- recommended by a Summit Ski School instructor.We came back again this year and found the experience better than ever.I started with the daily soup -- a rich, creamy broth filled with barley. My main dish was a daily special-- truffle risotto with rock lobster-- exquisite. The quantity of fresh truffle shavings was very generous. Paired with a local Valais wine (a Heida) this was one of my best meals on the mountain. We are regular visitors to Zermatt and have eaten at many a restaurant at this amazing ski resort. Simi stands out not only outstanding food, but excellent service. Stephan and his team are ultimate professionals. The food is delicious and a feast for the eyes before it even reaches your taste buds. I had the lobster and truffle risotto which was on the day's list of specials. It was superb. We were a group of 11, all served at the same time, and everyone's food was perfect - ranging from the less sophisticated croute au fromage to the refined truffle risotto.
