"This place was packed with locals having lunch the day I ventured in. They were also short handed and I felt bad for the lone server who was running back and forth to the kitchen. He nodded in the direction of an empty table and brought me a menu. My french is not the best, so I struggled a bit with the menu. I opted for a leek tart that was served with lentils. And, of course a carafe of rose was in order. I sipped my wine and continued to be entertained with the comings and goings of the restaurant. Customers continued to arrive and with no more seats inside, the diners took a seat at the outside tables. Things calmed down a bit when I spied a man entering with an armful of bread...apparently they had run out and he had to make a dash to the bakery. The lonely waiter finally had some help! My food arrived and I asked for a glass of water...and of course things got lost in translation...they thought I wanted ice! I couldn't resist a slice of lemon tart at the end and I left the place feeling most content!"

Pleasant enough restaurant, but food wasn't great quality and the combinations are just weird. Lots of dips and salad stuff, very little skill - more like a put together picnic experience.

It is not easy to find vegetarian restaurants in this region, but this place in Albi is a great find. The food is delicious and the service is very good. The apple crumble dessert was especially yummy!

The place was very busy, which is a good sign, but unfortunately, the waitress was visibly overwhelmed and a little careless (our table was mostly cleared but not cleaned, and the previous diner's water wasn't changed for us). There was only one vegan dish (riz afghan), and one that could be "veganised" by not adding a sauce (salads du Moyen-Orient) but it was tasty enough and overall, we'd go back. Speisekarte ansehen

A rarity in this part of the World, a vegetarian restaurant. However, it was extremely disappointing. A boring selection of food which required no culinary skills what so ever. The owners appear to be taking advantage of vegetarians as it certainly was not good value. A baked potato, grated carrot, grated beetroot, boiled egg and a small amount of cheese on the plate for over 10.00€ does not represent good value or any where near it. No imagination has been used in offering bland, uninteresting salads. Staff were attentive and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

It was really refreshing to find a vegetarian restaurant in Albi and this one is a delight. The menu was so varied and sounded so delicious it was really hard to choose. There were three of us and we each chose different things and they were all very good. Each dish came with about 5 different items, many unusual and all tasty. Prices were very reasonable and it seemed better value than many of the more traditional French restaurants. The service was very good with pleasant staff and setting very attractive. We sat outside under colourful umbrellas as it was sunny, but inside was very nice too.

A lovely little vegetarian restaurant with lots of fresh interesting foods on offer. A choice of gluten free dishes too which seems to be a rarity in most places. Very busy, mainly with locals. We arrived 15 minutes after it opened at lunch time and it was almost full then. Inside and outside seating. Not sure if alcohol was served, didn't see any on the menu. Water was brought to the table without request. It was closed on Sunday and I think it's only open lunch times but not certain. We were sorry we didn't find it sooner or we would have visited more than once. Will certainly return if we're back in Albi. Speisekarte ansehen

We stopped into Albi to visit the cathedral and have lunch. This place was recommended by Rick Steves and I'm a vegetarian so I was hoping it would be as good as the reviews. We were not disappointed. We both had the mushroom tart (that came with a side of lentils and greens or greens and veggies depending if you picked the spicy option) and it was SO GOOD! So good that we were dissecting it to figure out how to make again at home :) The cafe was very yummy as well. The prices were fair for lunch and we dined outdoors which was lovely. The service was impeccable- we would go back on that alone! Everyone we talked to there spoke some English which really helped since our French is seriously p...

We found Le Tournesol pretty much by accident - a real stroke of luck. It is small, but has a nice little outdoor terrace, and a small but interesting menu. We were there for lunch, and the menu consisted of two daily "specials" and a range of approx. 6 plates that seemed to be regular dishes. We had a Greek-themed platter, with a filled pitta bread as a centerpiece, accompanied by various salads, hummus etc., and the falafel platter - both delicious. Very reasonably priced, with very acceptable house wine and organic fruit juices, along with a very tempting dessert menu. We had a great lunch, and enjoyed every bite - everything tasted very fresh and was visually very appealing. The service...

"Our second night in Albi and two restaurants we wanted to visit in the evening were closed. We decided to venture to a small local Vietnamese restaurant that received only 11 reviews but all very good and from French visitors. We arrived early and we're the only customers but received a friendly greeting in French with little English but a willingness to work with our very limited language skill. We decided on the fixed price menu at 17Euros a person. My husband had the shrimp salad, the beef with onions and peppers with rice all very fresh tasting and the salad had wonderful and crunchy ingredients in a lightly creamed dressing. I chose the beef and nem...a lovely dish with ginger spiced noodle, small slices of perfectly tender beef and two small fried rolls stuffed with finely shredded veggies and meat. My main dish was the shrimp (crevettes) Thailandaise a most delicious combination of crisp onion, cabbage, and a fantastic spiced cream sauce. I was told it was spicy but without the final dash of hot sauce it had just the right amount of zip. Both of us had the banana flambé to finish. This was just the right amount of food...not so much food that it could be shared. The cost including a lovely bottle of Gaillac Rouge was about 47 Euros. We feel this was a wonderful and very pleasant dinner and well worth the price. Thanks again to Evean our waitress and her parents the chefs!"
