absolutely hidden gem. eating is amazing and espresso martinis top notch. beautiful furnishings and friendly knowledge personal. is recommended to everyone who will listen. new fave place.

A wonderful evening starting with a knowledgable waiter who guided our choices. We enjoyed 6 beautiful tapas style meals shared between the two of us accompanied by delicious cocktails. What’s not to love. Will definitely return

Really good Asian fusion tapas with a great atmosphere and music. They some unusual dishes the banana blossom was amazing and the tapas was very reasonably priced. Would absolutely go again. (We didn't have any ourselves but the cocktails looked pretty good too). Speisekarte ansehen

Asian Fusion Style Tapas Square with a clearly marked range of vegan options. 3 well dimensioned tapas dishes for £20, which are not quite enough for two people, so we also have a bowl of their thick sliced chips in curry sauce. The interior is clean and modern with magnificent views over the river towards Newcastle. Asahi Japanese warehouse also on design

Upon good feedbacks and pictures on tripadvisor we booked that restaurant. Fortunately we only ordered 3 so called tapas in the first step. The quality of cooking and food was so poor and disappointing, that we made up our mind to no more order main courses afterwards and to continue our dinner at another place. We do not undersrand the good rating of that place with hindsight at all.

restaurant was very nice with a beautiful location that personal managed to impress us before our show in the wise. we had a nice choice from main and next dishes. the food quality was nice, but very expensive for what it was and we were not 100% satisfied with the servings vs cost. only to clarify, we had not expected that we were stacking food, but it was quite steep. added the additional 10% measurement tip automatically, which was actually 13% was not justified. From the moment the three of us(family)arrived at Riverbeat Restaurant we were warmly welcomed. The interior of the restaurant is art inspired,spotless, warm and very comfortable seating. The Tapas/Menu and dishes were explained with such knowledge and WOW the food was out of this world. We can honestly say this is the best Asian inspired Tapas/food we have ever eaten. The spice and flavour combinations seemed so unique and cleverly thought out. Well done to the Head of House, Chef’s. Highly recommend! Was the perfect finishing touch following a lovely autumnal day at Beamish. Thanking all staff.

We visited River Beat last night and had a very disappointing meal. Firstly when we came to order our tapas they didn't have 2 of the meat dishes we wanted we should have been made aware of this when given the menu. Once ordered our food came extremely quickly too quickly, we were done with our meal within 40 minutes of being seated. The food quality did not reflect the price it lacked the wow factor and good flavours. There are much better restaurants on the quayside where you can get quality, flavourful food for the same price or less. On the other hand, the service was lovely and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.

Last month I was invited to try the food River Beat and it did not disappoint. The venue is situated on Gateshead’s quayside within a stone’s throw from the Swing Bridge allowing amazing riverside views of Newcastle’s iconic bridges from their beautiful terrace. River Beat specialises in award winning Asian tapas and curries in a quirky setting with relaxed fun vibes. I was lucky enough to try all the below dishes to get a great feel for variety of what they have to offer. The dishes were immense and with so many fresh flavours in each.
