Food was lovely but when I said to the waiter there was no cheese on my bacon cheese burger he stuck his finger in my food in front of everyone and told me there was, and then realised there wasn’t.

I arrived at around 4pm and the pub was quite crowded. It had been years since I last tried the mixed grill at this place, but I decided to give it another go. It turned out to be the best mixed grill I've ever had. I will definitely be returning for another one!

Lovely traditional local pub. Went after visiting Wentworth Woodhouse. Lovely food and lovely staff, especially Becca who was very friendly and attentive. Also Dan who filled us on the refurbishment that’s taking place soon. Prices really good for the portion size.

Went here after a long walk. Absolutely lovely country pub in a small but busy village. Beef and ale pie Mash peas and gravy . Absolutely beautiful individual pie full of meat and gravy creamy Mash. Gravy full of flavour freshly cooked peas. Nice size portion for the price. Lovely atmosphere will definitely be back here soon.

Came for a quiet one night getaway with my partner. Very nice welcome in the pub. Booked a table in the restaurant and explained to the staff my partner had very specific dietary requirements. Jordan the duty manager couldn't have been more accommodating for her needs and very friendly and attentive. Food was good as well as the service. Would definitely revisit when in the area.

We usually go to the Rock for drinks and love the cozy atmosphere in the snug with our friends. However, we seldom dine there. Recently, we saw some amazing looking food being served and decided to have dinner there last night. I ordered the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was, comparable to one I had at Miller and Carter. The fish was fresh, the batter was perfect, and the dish was just the right portion size. My husband enjoyed his scampi as well, and our friends had the steak and ale pie, which they said was excellent. We are excited to try something new on our next visit.

Very disappointing experience. We were there after a visit to Wentworth Woodhouse on a Sunday afternoon. My wife ordered a roast and I the beer and ale pie. We waited some considerable time for our food and when it arrived, it was clearly overdone overcooked greens, mash that had started to harden, pastry that had gone beyond crispy to solid. I didn’t complain at the time as a was hungry and b was concerned at how long it might take to replace it. On arrival our pre booked table was not ready and we had been crossed off the seating plan. We were then seated at a dirty table. Our drinks order was taken and the waiter proceeded to forget one of the drinks. After a while our food order was taken. Our table was then cleared and wiped with a sopping wet cloth. When our food arrived two meals were missing and one meal was missing the extra items ordered. The waiter said there had been a technical glitch and the remaining food would be out shortly. My friends were coming to visit and although I live locally, we decided to book rooms for 2 nightS at the Rock as we knew we’d be spending most of our time in Wentworth. A week before arrival I received a phone call to say one of the rooms wouldn’t be available for both nights and an alternative could only be provided for one night. Although this was frustrating and would require lots of changes to our plans, I understood the reasonings for the change and there was nothing the staff could do at that time.
