"I’ve been meaning to go to Roka for quite some time now. Since Taste of London 2014 to be precise; I never forget a meeting, first impressions do count, and Roka’s cod and crab dumplings made quite the impression on me. After fighting a certain someone for the last one, I made a mental note to book in a proper meal at the restaurant soon but that plan fell by the wayside. It was my first year in London so all the old restaurants were new and shiny to me, and all the new restaurants were even shinier… Roka was soon forgotten."

absolutely excellent! we ordered a lot of food, but my favs were (in order:) chutoro nigiri, lachs nigiri, miso black cadjau, yellow cocksalat, robata spargel.

great food, well presented. my preference was the black cod, salmon and carving. pretty busy restaurant, but the service is good. beautiful touch to see a part of the kitchen in action.

Went for the Sunday brunch special, service was excellent, the food was very good as well, but some dishes weren't great and the portions seemed excessively small given we ha a party of 6. The dessert was my favourite by far though.

really great eating, loss of the variety of beautifully made Japanese dishes. services are great, they really take care of them. the workers of cocktail bar know what they do and qualitatiw make high quality drinks. has long been one of our favorites.

No doubt this is such a highly rated place. Was here on my last UK trip, and had to even wait a while to get to enter. The cuisine, the preparation (they have an open kitchen in the centre of the dining area), the service, the courtesy of the staff... everything was out of the world. 10/10 will recommend. P.S. will pinch your wallet, but it is worth it.

Although a bit on the pricey side this franchise has a fantastic warm and inviting interior. Great vibe with sublime food. The black cod marinated in yuzu miso and soft shell crab was particularly good. The sushi... I've had better so wouldn't particularly go out of my way to order it the next time I'm there but the main meals are definitely worth a try.

To wait 50 minutes for the main course at the table of 4 while the others have finished eating is not funny.the food itself is fine not more.no reason to go there.and again it is not enough for the waiter to say:we are sorry.try to imagine me saying:i am sorry ill pay for my dinner sometimes in the future.wait with patience.the attitude given by the waitress and her boss was a big shame.it is not a restaurant for food lovers.

When Time Out offered the weekend brunch at Roka Aldwych for £30 (usually £55), I couldn’t resist!. Rainer Becker, a German-born chef, opened Roka on Charlotte Street in 2004 after the success of his first culinary adventure in London, Zuma. Since then Roka has turned into an award winning chain with locations in key areas of London. Rainer is continuing his culinary adventure globally and has opened restaurants all over the world as well a third one in London called Oblix in The Shard.
