Lovely food great landlord and customers very knowledgeable of the history of the pub which dates from the 17th century

What delicious food we had today for lunch, one of the best vegetarian dishes I've had in ages tasty original home cooked pub food just how it should be excellent friendly service with a smile we will be back!

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. It seems to be a popular spot in the area, as it was very busy. The restaurant has a large, spacious bar with tables in both rooms. I really enjoyed my meal here and appreciated the unique and rare atmosphere of the pub. Speisekarte ansehen

An old fashioned pub with soul is hard to find these days and this place has it in buckets. Warm, friendly, impeccable service and INCREDIBLE food. Very high quality. We stayed at a local campsite but will return just to sample the steak and chips or Sunday roast again, for sure

We not only stayed over here on our wedding night in 2014 (lovely room breakfast! We revisited recently to celebrate our first anniversary with a meal and we were not disappointed. Food was really good, we were surprised at the size of the meal too we would definitely recommend. Lovely atmosphere location.

we are getting married in the juli in the village, so on from leicester to go to the church or village hall, a visit to the royal horse hoes has become an essential part of each visit. the staff are all so friendly welcoming, eating is delicious the portions generous the roaring fire is always welcome in winter. our new favorite pub! Had a delightful, laid-back afternoon with delicious food and friendly locals at this restaurant. The prices were great and the landlord was really friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to chat with us and share some history about the building. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely be returning in the future.

The staff were more than welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble and the food was excellent in every way. The presentation was on a par with a top quality restaurant. As for the lady behind the bar, she didn't stop running around for a moment yet had time to speak to us and enquire that all was to our liking. We will definitely be going back.

came here with friends today. none of us is from the opposite or earlier, but it looked like a great place and it was really. the staff was really friendly and attentive and all four of us enjoyed the food (on Sunday dinner and desserts) the bark was beautiful and tender and the chocolate wing cake rounded off my meal perfectly. many thanks to x Speisekarte ansehen
