Authentic Thai Restaurant close to the train station. Lovely restaurant with a substantial menu to choose from. Staff were attentive and food was spot on. Reasonably priced as well.

Had a takeaway from here today and the food is really really good. The only thing is that the menu needs to be updated on the website. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. I would go back again .

we sat down it was 15 minutes before we were asked what did we want to drink and eat. 10 mins later still no drinks. Then a women wearing an apron came and asked us had we ordered. We got up, cancelled the food and walked out. Would recommend this place to anyone. Speisekarte ansehen

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant for a special event. The staff, especially the lovely lady who served us, made our visit extra special. The food was delicious and authentic, and the pricing was fair. The interior was beautiful with charming carved wood tables and chairs that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon.

The service and food at this restaurant were excellent. I had the vegetarian yellow curry, while my husband had the prawn jungle curry. The starters, including prawn soup and vegetable tempura, were delicious. The food was authentic Thai cuisine. We also enjoyed a great red wine, even though it wasn't Thai. They also offer Singha lager. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Solo visit to Ruen Thai. The staff are absolutely lovely. The food and drink came on time, the waitress was really friendly and was always available, even though it was just herself serving. I ordered sweet chilli ribs for starter and a chicken panang with coconut rice for main. Unfortunately i didn't find the ribs very tasty at all. The sauce they came in was a cornflour mixture without much flavour at all. However, I really enjoyed my main, the panang curry and coconut rice were full of flavour. Ruen Thai is nextdoor to another Thai/Asian restaurant in Carlisle so I can see how it may struggle, but it has all the makings of a great restaurant, particularly with such courteous staff on boar... We visited this restaurant in the middle of the week during a work trip to the area. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy. The restaurant's decor is very traditional Thai, with all the employees wearing traditional attire. We were promptly offered drinks and given time to look over the menu. Our food arrived in a timely manner, prepared fresh, which was evident in the delicious taste. The quality of the food was superb, with fresh, flavorful, and appropriately sized portions. Dreary, cold and dull atmosphere with mediocre food. Quite a strange experience to be honest delivery drivers constantly coming in and out the restaurant. At times, the entire restaurant was silent and really awkward atmosphere. They are really understaffed one waitress and one chef but about 3 or 4 delivery drivers wading in and out. Nothing on draft. Two bottles poured into a pint glass and the remains of one bottle accompanying your bottled pint. The wine was cheap and nasty made my partner sick. It is a really cold vibe. I have used the Ruen loads pre COVID and not only is the food excellent but the service was second to none. We visited for the first time since COVID recently and the good news is the food has not suffered at all. We had a delicious meal and as good as it always was. The staff were, are and continue to be really lovely however service pre COVID was like a military operation so precise and organised. Not quite as good this time. Drinks took a little while to arrive and simple things were just not quite right for example hot plates brought and put down for the mains which had gone cool by time the food arrived, had to ask for cutlery for mains, this wouldn’t have happened pre COVID.
