The gluten free fish and chips at this restaurant are incredible, and they even have gluten free vinegar! I highly recommend this place, as the owner is delightful and they use a separate fryer.

The shop owner was very friendly, attentive, and quick to serve us. He had a dedicated fryer for the GF fish and chips. The fish was delicious, lightly battered and crispy. He has GF vinegar substitute and GF ketchup. Highly recommend this little shop. Speisekarte ansehen

Great plaice, great food and great team. My go to place for stand out fish chips when in Carlisle. If you are in town and want some great traditional fayre from one of the best chefs on the Carlisle restaurant scene this Scotch Street location is the place to visit.

Delicious vegan fish and chips made to order the first time I've had a proper fish and chips in over 10 years of being veggie. It was my first time here but the staff were clearly familiar and chatting with regulars which was nice to see. Lots of plants too! I will be visiting again.

Popped in for lunch. Fish and Chips. Quite enjoyed it. Chips good. Small portion of chips. Nice sized haddock (was expecting cod but haddock is fine). Marks deducted for not draining the fish very well. Held it upside down and the oil poured out. Had it been rested for three mins, this wouldn't be a problem. Would visit again. Had a lovely lunch with my friend, she had the fish and chips and the fish was huge and so tasty, I had the seafood platter and chips and was a lovely selection of different seafood. The gentleman serving and taking orders and everything in between was brilliant, so helpful and kind and a real asset. Will definitely be back, nice to have home cooked style food in a nice casual unpretentious atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

I called to inquire about gluten free options at Mammas Fish Restaurant. The owner was extremely helpful and graciously offered to keep the restaurant open later so I could dine there. He was friendly and genuinely interested in my dietary needs. The kitchen was spotless and he made sure my meal was free from contamination. He even offered gluten free vinegar! I cannot speak highly enough of the owner and Mammas Fish Restaurant. The food was delicious and I will definitely be coming back. Perfect experience!

I was Christmas shopping with my lovely husband and starving. We called into Mamma's fish shop as it smelled so good outside. I had scampi and homemade chips and my husband chose the Seafood platter (squid rings, prawn cutlets, cod loin chuncks) the modest interior does not do the standard of food justice. It was fresh and so tasty I will definitely be back. I highly recommend, you will not leave hungry. The owner who cooks comes out and checks on every plate.
