Christmas works do. Lovely food, great service and good disco. We all seemed to have enjoyed ourselves and would visit again.

Found this hidden gem. Wonderful setting and a great varied menu. Made a lunch feel very special with the table clothes and knowledgeable team.

Having visited once, we couldn’t wait to come back and introduce my parents to this fabulous restaurant. It happened to be Burns night, and my goodness the menu was incredible. I went outside my comfort zone and tried chicken stuffed with haggis it was mind blowing! The service was outstanding as always. Treat yourself, you won’t regret it!

Went to Russells for New Year celebrations and it was an excellent experience. From entering the lovely Barn to leaving the service was superb and very professional (no part time servers here). Everyone knew their role and performed it beautifully. The food was very well presented and extremely tasty. The DJ was great playing quieter background music while eating but turning up the volume for Dancing later. Could not fault it and will be going back again soon

What a lovely atmospheric venue. Whilst it was quite quiet on a Thursday lunchtime service was attentive and appropriate. Starter choices were wide, I chose a beef carpaccio beautifully flavoured. Main was a truly delicious Beef Tornedo Rossini. We had the dessert quad plate and asked for one dish change. Chef was delighted to come out and tell us he liked our combination better the established one, so would be changing it. The frangipan was absolutely sensational. The toilets were very clean. We went here with family and had the Christmas menu deal. The service, from walking in until leaving was excellent. All staff were professional, yet friendly and attentive. The standard of training they have received is almost, but not quite to Silver Service level. The food was of very good quality, extremely flavoursome and tasty. They also have a good selection of quality wines that you will not find readily available elsewhere. I can find no fault with this restaurant, it deserves better than the five star rating available. As experienced food enthusiasts, we are amazed that we had never dined at this restaurant before. It's truly a shame because the food here is exceptional. We will definitely be making up for lost time by returning. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with a staff that is friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed a set menu lunch during the week with a variety of great options. The food was outstanding, creative, and beautifully presented. The complimentary bread before our meal was a lovely touch, as it is rare to see in restaurants nowadays. Coming from the Southend area, where there are many restaurants, none compare to Russells. Russell's provided catering for our wedding 30 years ago, and we decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary with a dinner at the same place. The young and vibrant team welcomed us warmly, not realizing we had been there before. They made us feel at home, offering us a glass of champagne while we looked over the menu. When I mentioned I wanted a dish that wasn't on the menu, the waitress happily suggested the chef could whip something up fresh for me.
