"where to the devil am I starting?! both with writing, and the first thought that went through my head when this monster arrived at the seafield arms whitehills at my table last night. I had seen this metzgers block (and similar) on...their Facebook page before a good one, and it was love at first sight. who knows me will know that this is my idea of heaven, I love flesh, and that is exactly what I wish for myself, should I ask for a final meal. but I had my reservations. I've been to the seafield arms a few times, I even had the best meal I think I've ever had some years back there. we went around a month ago and I had seen myself over this “Butchers Block” I had seen on facebook. I was informed that it was made to order what had to be done some days before. that meant clearly that I could not have it in this night, but from pure curiosity, I asked the price. While this is my ideal meal, I am also very narrow. feels like a lot of money when it is said loud, it feels even more when they see it besides maybe a lasagne or a fish and chips written. So, if I weigh the options, I thought it's worth it? good that I probably looked back all the stupid things I spent on in the past. I am thinking of all the times I went out and tried something new and didn't like it, how much did I waste? probably hundreds in the run of the years. So I would be spent for a single meal, but with the guarantee I will at least like something in the offer? yes, why not! gott, even in a cheap chain restaurant such as tgi or nando’s, if they are in drinks, maybe a starter, side and their main, they are likely to find close anyway, especially when they find dessert with amy who finish a meal, no matter the size of the portions, and always place for a chocolate! I mean, a fillet steak alone in a restaurant can't cost them any. it's really not a brain! So I bite the balls that put my wallet in my pocket. we came there last night and were shown at our table who will know the beautiful environment they have there and was asked what we want to drink. While I was exaggerating, I was told that the metzgerblock also comes with a bottle of wine! I'm sorry, is it coming with a bottle of wine?! sure this is only in any restaurant?! well, I was surprised, but so enthusiastic came our drinks, and we were informed that there would be something waiting, but everything was freshly cooked to order and that was to be expected. after what felt like a surprisingly short time, everything appeared in pictures. it melts divinely and looked even better! how could I doubt a second that this was not worth money?! we've been getting in. from the second it touched my lips, all I did was eat and make strange sexual sounds for about minutes just it was incredible. boiled to perfection, nicely seasoned, and how to the chef so many things at once to jog everything to the perfect temperature without overcooking a single thing, I have no **** idea! I felt like I had been stranded on a desert island like tom hanks in castaway, then I had just gotten a bankett after I had survived I said, “Have you the ****?!” he said, “Oh, don’t! we try to bring it out in stages to save everything from cold. I’ll just go and get it” he then turns with another plate loaded with juicy **** and pigs, plus wobble rings! (the last pictures) I could spend a week counting the different things and the different states of the elation that I felt when I ate everyone, but in all honesty I spent the last hours to find out how I could write that without it seems I had been bribed to do this! it was really probably the best meal I had every one in my life, and I had a lot of meal! here is a list of everything we have: from each of the following. fillet steak wellington (I think the packages sirloin ribeye lamb hacks pork swan boobs loaded jacket kartoffel veg sauces krispy potato cays coleslaw tweebel rings mushroom tomaten plus a bottle of wine on top I had two lagoons. the total bill? absolutely phenomenal! we couldn't manage it, we had eaten at a point where despite the offered to fight for them, everything we had left for us, we decided to take only the meat, because despite ready to burst, it was too damn good to throw out. I can't recommend this if they're on the chew, then they hop down because this was worth it. single. penny. many thanks to the seafield weapons, for this fat man to make really happy!"

Food was good for how much we paid, asked for rare steak and got well done that is my only fault other than that it's a nice place to eat.

Amazing meal at the Seafield Arms. Good sized portions and delicious food. The service was fabulous and our waiter went out his way to make my Uncles birthday more special with the little touches added to his plate and the malt of his choice on...the house. Would highly recommend.

We ate in one night and also had a takeway when the fish and chip shop was inexplicably shut. We couldn't believe the amount of fish we were given and when we went to the restaurant the portions were just as generous. The service...was excellent, as was the food. A very friendly atmosphere.

Stayed here night for my birthday treat in room Room was spotlessly clean with lovely comfy bed. Plenty tea/coffee. Breakfast was served promptly and a great start to your day. We ate in bar as we had our little dog with us, she...was delighted due to the fuss being made of her by the locals and staff. Would highly recommend a night here, staff are fantastic and locals friendly. Great wee hotel in a lovely wee village Speisekarte ansehen

excellent service, excellent kitchen! we came to be warmly welcomed by our waitress aggie and were set by dave the owner. the personal could not have been more pleasant or helpful. after we have preordered a special plate for two, we enjoyed the garden room restaurant and. our drinks in advance know that the meal is somewhat longer than normal they apologise, but there was no need. the plate we ordered was “The Butcher’s Block” many different meats served with filled baked carrots and pea shots. we both cook and know how hard it is to cook two different meats perfectly to get hot on the pass so we do not expect perfection of six very different “cuts”. when the Gargantuan plate appeared and w...

"Sunday, 3rd September 2023 – 19:00 Meal: Wine Starters – Main – Coffee My friend and I arrived at 19:00 to a busy but not overfull restaurant without a reservation and they accommodated us upstairs. Menus were produced and we ordered a bottle of white wine and a jug of water. 0rders placed for starters and 2 servings of the Italian style fish stew on the ‘Specials Board’ at 26.99 each. Tomato and chilli with promises of loads of different fish. The toss up was between a steak or the stew (which neither of us would cook at home). The table was dirty and needed wiping – this request was placed 3x on the young waitron who eventually produced a cloth slopping water from a bucket in the corner cupped in her hands where she half heartedly wiped the table with water dripping onto my friend’s lap. Hurried mop up with tissues out of my bag. The white wine was plonked on the table – next to the cooler – unopened and no glasses. Several attempts were made to attract the waitron’s attention. Eventually another bottle was produced opened and we were advised the waitron was under age and not allowed to pour wine. Perfectly acceptable had she produced an opener and the glasses with an explanation I would have been happy to help myself – we understand and appreciate these things. The starters arrived and were delicious! The chef then came out to see us and explained that there was no lobster for the stew – we asked for extra monkfish, he then said there was no monkfish left – but could help us with other white fish and crab claws. He said he was down to the last 2 portions, and he would ensure they were hearty. We were a bit concerned and suggested perhaps we settle for the steak which is always delicious. He assured us we had made the right choice and would enjoy the stew. The stews arrived and were ‘hearty’ if being crammed with the contents of a tin of crab claws is your definition of hearty. The promised ‘rich tomato broth with chilli and garlic’ was a watered down version of what was clearly less than a cup of the original broth left at the bottom of the pot topped with water. It was tasteless – lacking in hint of either chilli, wine, garlic or herbs – having lived in Malta I can assure you I have a deep understanding of Med cooking. I guess we were lucky we didn’t have the salty brine of the crab claws as the broth. It was inedible and we were starving so we kept adding salt and pepper – we were beyond the point of returning the food which was a mistake in hindsight. We skipped dessert – had coffees and left. The meal came to nearly £100.00. This was an expensive lousy experience. We paid a generous tip – because they accommodated us without a reservation. Take aways from the experience: • The restaurant service on a Sunday evening at 19:00 should be as good as it is on a Friday at 19:00 • Being a local and having eaten there several times – it is my first choice for a ‘good’ meal – don’t abuse the luxury of local support. • Train your waitrons to clean tables, by wringing out the cloth and not dripping water on your patrons. • Waitrons (even under aged ones) should at least carry a wine opener, and understand that wine glasses should be produced when delivering wine. • Your chef should know better and never, ever assume he can cut costs by selling the dregs from his kitchen. • A poor dining experience costs you more than you think. We would have ordered dessert, and more importantly returned for a second meal in the next week – WE DIDN’T! I have a friend coming from Ireland in November – do I risk taking her to the Anchor?"
