"We had a fantastic afternoon at the Tavern, service was amazing and the food was outstanding. Only heard they did Afternoon Tea when we came for a meal last month, but we will be telling everyone about it. Hoping to make this a regular thing. Such a lovely ambience, staff are amazing and a great team, the service and food has always been outstanding when we have been for meals in the past, but the Afternoon Tea is a fantastic addition. We felt really special. We look forward to future visits!"

The Sunday lunch was really good my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed I would definitely recommend the roast .

We havent been to the Tavern for ages and we realky enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and worked really hard and the food was delicious. When we arrived, we didnt have to wait and was shown to our table straight away. Would recommend the Tavern.

The food was nice cooked well, the steak prices are rather high, they are miller and carter priced but definitely not the quality. The plates were miss matched, and the tannoy system they have introduced lowers the tone a bit bit overall the establishment is pleasant and the staff are lovely.

Called in on off chance at 8.30pm on Christmas Eve as we had travelled up from Devon. Didn't really expect to get served but the lady we met was a delight sorry don't know her name). Have visited a few times lately and really rated it, so decided to book for Xmas eve. We booked the Xmas menu so had pre chosen our meals. We weren't disappointed, portions excellent (you could opt for a smaller portion), everything seemless, vegetables beautifully cooked, deserts delicious, couldn't fault it, will visit again!!!!!

We was here on Sunday, 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food lasagne, gammon, cheese pie,fish n chips,and 2 roast beef dinners It is not the cheapest of places but the service is good and it has a nice feel about it If you are thinking of going check that it is open first, as it is closing on Sunday 21st May and will be taken over by new people so not sure when it will open again Would I go again ? Yes I think I will give it a go whe it reopens to see what it is like John
