We stopped by for a few drinks. It's quite a big place decored in typical bar style. While we didn't get a chance to sit on the patio due to the rain, we had seating by the open doors overlooking the patio which was nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant with the high ceilings was a good place to be. We had some beers and wine while there so can recommend this place for a drink. Parents: High chairs and change table!

My friends took me to this restaurant after we explored Windsor, and it made for a delightful spot for a leisurely lunch. There was a bit of confusion about whether we could sit in the bar area, and whether we had to order at the bar or if table service was available. However, our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The scallop starter was excellent, and the lamb shepherd's pie was equally impressive. To top it off, the pineapple dessert with coconut ice cream was absolutely delicious!

The service was satisfactory, but it didn't measure up to the high standards we've come to expect. Additionally, the ambiance was rather lackluster, which was surprising given the restaurant's beautiful cosmopolitan setting. Finding parking in Windsor can be quite challenging; however, with a bit of searching, we were able to find a spot. Just be sure to have £1 coins on hand for the meter, or you might find yourself in trouble! Would we return? No; there are plenty of better dining options closer to the castle.

Nice vibe in the bar area but they have jazz on loop and the food is really really disappointing and wayyy over-priced. I ordered a teriyaki chicken kebab as a starter and it came out literally as 2 little tiny strips of chicken and small salad garnish. Not in skewers and no cutlery and they expect you to eat it with your fingers. Very weird. All the main menus sound ok but I saw them on other peoples tables and they look very ordinary. Drinks sit on tables in the bar area forever as well. No one cleans them up right away.

A truly classic British experience. Just a short walk from Windsor Palace and located along the serene Thames River, this restaurant offers a menu filled with all the traditional dishes you would expect. Honestly, you could serve a bowl of cereal and still feel perfectly at home in such a location. I’ve had some of the finest fish and chips and meat pies in this wonderful country here. English cuisine may not be known for its bold flavors or innovation, but it envelops you like a warm, comforting blanket. The setting is picturesque and charming, just as you would hope for.

The great thing about this spot is the view of the Thames River from their upstairs deck. The restaurant is always packed. Service is friendly. But the food is just mediocre and not impressive esp. for the price. Ordered the Mushroom Tagliatelle £12.50) very bland and boring ... I actually had to add salt n pepper. My colleague enjoyed her Chicken Avocado Salad though. We also shared the Peach Melba dessert £6.95) canned peaches, meringue and vanilla ice cream ... very disappointing. I'd probably recommend this spot more for drinks than for the food. No lunch specials, and they have breakfast/brunch until 12pm on weekends.

The only thing that Browns Windsor has going for it is its location. The service is by staff that can't hardly understand your order. Then once you receive your order it is wrong, not cooked as requested. Then when pointed out they attempt to cover their mistakes with lies. Tips for Browns Windsor 1. When you mess up and order don't sent back the same thing with something sprinkled on top hoping that the customer won't say anything a second time. 2. Don't lie and argue to to customer when you know that their steak is cooked medium and not rare, there is quite a difference. 3. My wife and I stopped in here for breakfast on a Friday morning before heading to Windsor Castle. I noticed that there are quite a few subpar reviews of the Browns, but they look to be from several years ago, so I thought I'd give an updated review. Our experience was top notch! When you enter, you're greeted with lightly playing jazz piano in the background. There is great lighting, patio seating, and plenty of tables for even a busy morning. This is a restaurant and a bar. I visited the bar/pub side one afternoon then went back for dinner the next night on the restaurant side. The food is delicious and they have a special menu if you get there prior to 7pm during the week. I added a photo so take a look. 2 items for 12.95 (pounds for my American friends so do the math) The steak is an extra charge, but less than 2 pounds.
