"Our OpenTable booking failed as The Angel had no record of our booking but were able to accommodate us. Surroundings nice. Waitress friendly. Service diabolical. Slow (short-staffed maybe) and missing expected things like cutlery on the table, no offer of plates when we had sharing starters. Food took forever to come and arrived in dribs and drabs with long gaps in between. Food was overpriced and standard was low. My steak was tough and the worst I have had in a long time. Others in our group weren't impressed with their choices either. Definately won't bother again. Very disappointing."

The staff at the restaurant were extremely helpful despite being very busy. The large groups seemed to overwhelm the limited staff available. However, the starter was delightful. I would not recommend the hunter chicken, but the burger I ordered was satisfying. In conclusion, my experience was generally pleasant.

We were impressed by the wide variety of options on the menu, including a vegan menu. The atmosphere was casual and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. However, we were a bit disappointed by the unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. We were not greeted upon arrival and had to wait for our cutlery after our food arrived at the bar.
