"anstruther is known for its fish and chips. but the cellar should quite take its place as number 1. Scottish happiness to have a good larder, and the cellar brings these ingredients to great effect. each plate on the tasting menu was pleasant and full of taste. matching weine have been added and supplements every cursor. the restaurant set adds the ambiente and the personal ensures that they enjoy their experience comfortably."

"I had a delightful lunch at this restaurant with amazing sausage roll and lentil soup. The best part was the brownies - they were incredible! A bonus is that the restaurant is dog friendly. They also offer Vegetarian options such as Vegan sausage roll and soup. The cost per person is typically between £10-20. I rate the food, service, and atmosphere all 5 stars. Highly recommend trying the Sausage Roll. Vegetarians may also enjoy the options available, although I only somewhat recommend them."

"My wife and I had previously read the reviews for this place and decided to travel from Glasgow and check it out. We weren't disappointed. The place was packed and had a great buzz about it. My wife had the soup of the day which was a substantial bowl of spiced sweet potato soup accompanied by a lovely cheese and ham toastie. I had the baked potato with tuna, coleslaw and salad. Both meals were lovely. The service was on point and they were very friendly. The cost of the food was very reasonable. We would certainly recommend and hope to return in the future"

"Genuinely, the best service at any restaurant in the past year or more. Sat down outside, which is often a gamble for good service, but the staff were excellent, recognising our two very hungry wee ones. Kids meals fairly priced, and very good portions. Also had a couple of main dishes from the quick bites menu, and everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty. Would give 5 plus for the service alone. Why can't more eateries be like this, rather than the usual age long wait for mediocre overpriced garbage? The pavement outside is on a slant, so the tables and chairs are too, but we honestly didn't mind sitting in the rare Scottish summer sun for a great meal. Best wishes to the whole team at The Waterfront, as they have a winning recipe for happy customers."

"I had another fantastic meal here the other night. We were pleased with the reserved seating, and the staff was very accommodating. As always, I enjoyed the delicious chowder, which I’ve been savoring for years—this may have been the best version yet. I followed it with the fish and chips, expertly prepared by Graham. The batter was thin and crispy, and the fish was incredibly fresh. My wife loved the smoked squid as well—it was delicious. We were attended to by the polite and efficient Murray, who provided excellent service. Keep up the great work, team! I can’t wait to return to this gem for another amazing dining experience."
