This charming neighborhood pub has a perfect atmosphere for dining or enjoying a drink. The food was excellent, especially the chef's special of clam and mussel pappardelle. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place!

so many great, homemade vegan options in this pub. the sunday roast is unbeatably complete with vegan yorkshire pudding. they even make their own vegan cream brulee. the main menu has also made many classic options perfect, the homemade vegan chorizo burger is delicious.

The service and the atmosphere were great, however I was slightly disappointed with the Sunday Roast. I’d heard so many good things but unfortunately didn’t have a good experience. The potatoes were so crisp they were hard to eat, and there was a lot of fat on the roast beef pretty much more than half of the meat I was unable to eat. I didn’t have a good experience. Would go back for drinks but not for food unfortunately.

Today surpassed themselves, always fabulous- arancini the best I have ‘ever’ tasted..nutty perfect texture rice with bite..crisp outer shell ..salad of leaves and shoots dressed with sea salt and citrus dressing so expert such care …I loved it! On a Tuesday lunch after work it’s overwhelming!! Wellington beautiful balanced possibly better still with a cream Madeira mushroom duxelles ? ..veg gorgeous nutty tender stem beautiful crisp soft inside fluffy spuds …tasty crumble , custard and a side of extra pouring cream..yum!

there were a few vegan options to choose from which was refreshing, but overall would not say that it was the best. had the home soup and beet root, lenses and mushroom wellington, which was nice enough, but the suppe was bland and the wellington was good, but nothing I would recommend especially. on the bright side, the chef asked how both my friend and I found the food and you could say that he listened! He said he was the new chef and will change the menu soon and dessert us a free one next time when we stop by the house - like the (non-vegan) meal of my friend was returned, as it was much to wish. overall would not go again, but the personal was nice and would rate eating a 6-6.5/10

I had the pleasure of visiting the Better Half in Hove on Saturday night. Traveling from Melton Mowbray to spend time with my daughter and her boyfriend, we enjoyed a delightful evening of food, drink, and conversation at this upmarket pub. The Harvey's Bitter was a truly wonderful pint, and the fish of the day, a Bream, was simply beautiful. I even took a moment to extend my compliments to the kitchen for their perfect preparation. With extremely reasonable prices for the high-quality offerings, I look forward to revisiting this fine establishment when I'm back in the area, hopefully in a few months' time.
