Just had a family meal here, absolutely superb! Excellent food, excellent service : couldn't have had a better meal.

Lovely atmosphere and all the Staff are very friendly. The food is excellent and very reasonable priced. The Locals seem to like it which is always a good sign. Definitely worth a Visit while in the Area.

This is a wonderful little pub with a fantastic atmosphere. All the staff are incredibly polite and provide excellent service. They offer a selection of beautiful local ales, and the food is top-notch. If you’re in the area or even passing by, I highly recommend stopping in! Speisekarte ansehen

a traditional country pub with very friendly staff who like to be helpful. the toilets are clean modern, the floor well kept and the decor is with the one well-guided ale house. we had no food, but only the beverage selection makes this facility worth a visit. we will definitely make a return trip.

Three fantastic visits to the Black Bear whilst staying in Wool. Excellent choice of ales in this CAMRA pub. Food is very tasty and good value for money- children's meals are wonderful. My three children (fussy eaters) cleaned their plates! Attentive staff and a wonderful landlady. Highly recommend a visit. We'll be back!

What a great little find today! Popped in for lunch, and tried one of the blackboard specials..Sea Bass buttered caper sauce, salad and new potatoes...yummy! Great value too! Followed by Mascarpone ice cream with raspberry ripple...which was homemade. Definitely recommend this friendly little pub, and hope to return again soon! Speisekarte ansehen

This pub is fantastic! The staff are friendly, cheerful, welcoming, and professional. The menu features a diverse and delicious array of snacks, meals, and desserts, with options for both vegetarians and those needing gluten-free choices. It's also child- and dog-friendly. The employees really go above and beyond; for instance, when you order a cup of coffee, it comes served on a tablet with a cute little cookie on the side. I tried one of the special dishes, and it was not only excellent but also very affordable. I can't wait to return with friends and family!

During our first visit to Dorset, we were guided to The Black Bear, and I’m so glad we chose to dine there. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. We ordered the chicken bacon salad and half BBQ chicken. The salad was good, with a really nice dressing; though my partner would have preferred a bit more bacon, but that's just their taste. I tried a bit of BBQ chicken from different places, and this was by far the best. The sauce was the highlight—sticky and bursting with flavor, it really delighted my taste buds. Thank you for a wonderful meal and excellent service!

I've spent 15 years working up the road and avoiding this pub, because I thought it was Badger Beer. Well, it was for most of that time, but it's not any more. I catch up eventually, and everyone deserves to be forgiven. It may well have been a great local all along, with not so great beer, but how would I know? Thankfully for me, I've finally discovered this great local pub. Superb and ever changing selection of 3 or 4 real ales, friendly and helpful staff, and that feel of a proper pub that is very hard to find these days. The food looks good too, give me another 15 years and I may post a review..... ; Speisekarte ansehen
