The Black Horse - Speisekarte

Good quality restaurant that is now probably the best restaurant in Braunton. The Black Horse is primarily a pub but its restaurant serves top quality restaurant food. And there is still a great range of real ales.

This is exactly what a pub should be. Great food, reasonably priced; a good selection of ales and gin, great atmosphere, friendly locals and a landlord who is as friendly and funny as he is efficient. The only downside is that being 150 miles away from home it cant be my local!

Another great meal the sea bass with Asian noodles was superb. All served in a relaxed atmosphere with great hosting. Would be better to have a wine list rather than just listing off types as didn’t feel I could ask questions eg like Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand but not from chile Speisekarte ansehen

Hidden away in the old part of braunton has a lovely welcoming feel to the place and away from the crowds.Great meal in a lovely pub feel . Had tuna which was amazing but all the dishes in a group of 8 of us were fantastic. gastro pub style but reasonably priced . Had a lovely pint of ale and will definitely be red. Didn’t want to write a review to share as it will get busy but that’s not fair on the business

We were greeted with a very warm welcome upon arrival at the restaurant. After ordering drinks, we were seated and served delicious food that exceeded our expectations. We definitely plan on returning to try more dishes from the menu. We both ordered the lamb rump and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size and perfect cooking. The pub had a lovely, cozy atmosphere that made our experience even more enjoyable.

We have been regular patrons of this pub for many years, and it has changed hands several times. We decided to stop by yesterday and were pleasantly surprised by the changes made by the new owner. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. Located just a 5-minute walk from the main part of Braunton, it is definitely worth a visit. This restaurant offers excellent, high-quality food that is expertly cooked. We have visited three times and have always enjoyed a good selection of freshly prepared dishes. It was a pleasant surprise to find that half of the menu is gluten-free and still very delicious. Grant, the staff member, was extremely helpful. We are excited to see the new menu next week. The prices are reasonable. If you don't feel like dining, you can also enjoy a drink in the traditional pub setting indoors or at one of the outdoor tables in the fresh air.

We've been coming to Braunton for 3 years now and found the Black Horse this year.What a find for the 4 of us! Food was excellent, service was superb and the drinks menu was varied and really good. Lovely convivial atmosphere blending a locals vibe as well as attractive to outside guests such as us. Hats off to the landlord/owner, who has clearly put a lot of work and effort into developing the pub restaurant itself as well as the astute recruitment of chef(s) and staff. What a surprise to find such good quality food in a pub in Braunton at last and even more for such a reasonable price. The menu is fairly short but beautifully balanced. a choice of several starters, five mains and a few sweets. Only the two of us and we both had the chicken chorizo which was exquisite. The chef, Dan, knows how to cook. Other things which we hope to see when next in Braunton are the arancini which we saw and also heard lovely comments about from the next table and the sticky pork. A nice selection of wines, beer straight from the barrel in perfect condition and the prompt service by the landlord, Grant, was friendly, funny and most welcoming. What a gem to find which we are...
