The Cafe At Foyles - Speisekarte

I love the fact that there is a bookshop near me that sells vegan food but this could be so much better! The selection of food isn't big enough but the atmosphere is great and the staff are great. Improve this please!

I’d recommend you avoid this sadly. A massive queue led to a stale Bagel and a person dumping a bottled drink at me without offering a glass. The tables were mostly busy or loaded with uncleared plates, and neither clean nor tidy. Place needs better management.

So, the chef was on holiday so there was nothing to eat besides apples and bananas. They do have some vegan brownies, assuming the chef is at work. The waiters were really friendly tho, they checked everything for eggs and dairy. Too bad they didn't have anything for us except soy lattes.

Very relaxing atmosphere in this place making me to come back again and again. Great coffee, music playing on background and not too loud so you could have a quality time catching up with your friends. Obviously,people love this place for a different reasons. I have my own one and will be back there soon again.

Looking at the other reviews, my experience is not isolated however it would appear that no one at Foyles reads this so I intend to escalate. This is one of my favourite London cafes as an avid book reader. The manager is usually very friendly however seems to run the counter alone which isn’t ideal as customers often left waiting. That said she can be kind and gets to know the regulars. Improvement in the quality of the food needed asap.

As a disabled wheelchair user the cafe isn’t good at all as all. The tables and chairs are all packed together and I’m only able to use tables on the edges of the seating available. It’s almost impossible for me to get an empty table, as there are a lot of people around and I’m not able to move around and people end up beating me to a table. The cafe needs to provide priority wheelchair/accessible tables on each side of the cafe (near the till and the opposite side). Even though the bookshop and toilets available are accessible, what’s the point when you can use all of what FOYLES provides.

Although this restaurant had poor reviews, we decided to give it a chance since the last review was from four years ago. Unfortunately, the previous reviews were accurate - the only vegan options available were a chocolate brownie and some quinoa crisps. The limited food options were disappointing, and I didn't bother to check out the drinks menu after seeing the lack of variety in food. The restaurant was also quite crowded with few available seats, so don't expect a relaxed bookshop atmosphere. Overall, I would not recommend this place based on my experience. There weren't many options available when I visited this restaurant before Easter in 2018. They only had a blueberry and something soup and a brownie bar. Unfortunately, they were out of smoothies, but they looked delicious! Overall, it might not be the best choice for picky eaters. I did try the brownie, though, and it was pretty tasty. It was a bit dry and crumbly, but I was hungry and couldn't leave the bookshop, so it was a great snack. The brownie had dark chocolate chips inside, giving it a nice crunch. Given how wonderful the bookshop is, the cafe is a real disappointment and needs a total rethink when it comes to service. Whenever I’ve been in, I’ve found the staff to have a slow and unwelcoming manner. On one occasion, I ordered a sandwich and was asked if I wanted it toasted, which I did. After 25 minutes of waiting at my table, my sandwich hadn’t appeared so I went back to check on the progress of my sandwich but it was clear that it had been completely forgotten about and looked a charred disaster.
