"After our appalling experience six months ago, I was reluctant to take the advice that we should give it a second chance, but I 'm glad we did. You walk in and immediately feel welcome. Prompt service with a smile and amazing food made this a first class dining experience. My wife and I shared a samosa and sweet chilli dip starter which was excellent. Now I am a glutton for steak and ale pie, and if it 's on the menu, there 's a better than even chance I 'll order it. For that reason, I would consider myself a connoisseur, and can honestly say this was the best I 've ever had. The puds were also to die for. Well done the new management to turn this place around and put it the top must visit category."

"Ventured into this establishment in search of a traditional Sunday lunch, choice of turkey, beef, lamb,or pork. Having chosen the lamb, I must admit it was one of the better Sunday lunches I have eaten out, lamb roast perfectly cooked, with a selection of 6 vegetables as well as a scoop of mashed potato,a roast potato and some cauliflower cheese and plenty of gravy. Others had the turkey and were equally as impressed. One course £8, two course £11, I don’t recall how much the three course was, possibly £15? Well worth the money. The normal menu was up on the blackboard too, and looked quite inviting, Will probably return to try their ‘rest of the week fare’, good quality meal, enjoyable visit. The bar is well stocked with a selection of beers, soft drinks and spirits."

"I called in for some quick coffees here while driving through and could not be more impressed by the staff. Although we had arrived before the store is actually open for business, the staff while prepping to open, noticed us and very kindly offered to get us coffees. Not a service I have got anywhere recently. They were polite, welcoming and prompt with the coffees, and we were on our way again. The beverages were good, my partner particularly liked the Americano. A little politeness and kindness goes a long way! If I could I would leave six stars for the staff here. Food: 5 Service: 5"

"Visited during the eat out to help out scheme during August. Government website indicated this establishment was participating in the scheme but we were refused the discount and told the offer was not available until the following week. I then saw the Hangout advertising the scheme on Facebook, the day prior to us being there and inviting people to call in and get the discount. When I responded to this inaccuracy on f/book, my post was removed by the Hangout.I then wrote to the Hangout directly and was accused by Pen Lee of splashing bad vibes and making accusatory statements all over social media. They said they weren 't pulling a fast one or whatever I wanted to believe!I am bitterly disappointed that I was supporting a local business and got treated so shoddily and disrespectfully."

"My family had a meal last night at this inn. The hosts were extremely welcoming but I am afraid to say the food was terrible. The surroundings required updating and the toilets, well!!My daughter-in-law and husband had duck priced at £16.45. They got what was supposed to be spiced duck iwhich was served n a tasteless sauce accompanied by rice. I hasten to add that they were offered peas as the veg!! For over £16 I thought it rather overpriced and of a very poor quality and presentation. I do not normally write reviews but I felt this place was so bad that I had to make other people aware. If you drive past this place my advice is to keep driving!!"
