"We stayed here for two nights. The room was fine, quite small but expected for the type of building. The room was fine but had no toiletries at all inside which wad advertised and expected for the rate. There is also no fridge in the rooms. You are advised to collect milk for the room in the corridor outside the rooms, where flasks for each room are left and can be refilled if left outside the fridge on the side. Unfortunately on a number of occasions we left our flask out and did not have it refilled, and we then had to keep asking at the bar for milk which felt like an inconvenience when we asked. Apart from this the room was fine and was cleaned both days as we asked. The parking is horrendous, and the staff are not too helpful in assisting you with this. They suggest you park behind the church which is a road in the middle of nowhere, with an overgrown path to reach the pub. We checked this option out but it is not acceptable and would not advise to leave your car there! We did not and managed to squeeze on the road after circling the area. Parking is advertised on booking.com but is somewhat misleading as there is only around 5 spaces which are always full. In terms of food, we were expecting a lot more. We had limited options as are not massive meat eaters or fish eaters. There was no chicken on the menu, and we felt the only thing we could order was the fish and chips which was rubbery and did not seem to be cooked correctly. For pudding, one of us got a chocolate mousse that unfortunately was awfully presented and looked like dog mess slapped on a plate. The other got only one scoop of ice cream in a tiny dish when we asked for 2 scoops. This was poorly presented too. In terms of breakfast the food wasn't bad, but it took ages to come. We were offered and juice the first day and ended up finding some cartons left on the side to help yourself to. On both days we were never offered another tea or coffee and were pretty much left to our own devices to work out the setup. One major concern which I would raise, is that a lot of drinking goes on there and unfortunately we noticed a lot of drink/drunk drivers leaving the pub. Staff must note this and know the customers are driving off drunk. If we'd have reported these drivers we would have been onto the Police all night and not something we want to be doing on our holidays. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency. Overall feel a bit mislead by the photos and previous reviews, and will not be returning. Such a shame as the location is nice, but food and service need improvement."

A great traditional country pub in a quiet village. Great food, smiley helpful service, and a friendly atmosphere. Good selection of real ale, low alcohol beer and wine. We had an excellent Sunday lunch in the quiet garden. Highly recommended.

We went there for dinner on Saturday night and for Sunday Lunch. The restaurant did not disappoint, on both occasions the food was excellent and the service was very good, attentive throughout. We were a party of twelve and we all had our food on the table at the same time

Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We so enjoyed your company and the atmosphere was great. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and our room exceeded our expectations with top quality content furnishings. We hope we can return again next year. The Crown, Church Enstone has got it right!

We had a lovely lunch here. Interesting menu. Clearly the chef knows what he/she is doing here. Crispy cods skins were delicious, cheddar beignets just as nice. Sausage and mash good (slightly heavy on the herbs with the sausage made it slightly over powering). Fish and chips top notch. Lovely open fire and bar area. Shame it was so quiet for a Friday lunch time as only 3 tables occupied. Spotless toilets and friendly staff. Will return.

We had a two night stay with friends. We were met with a very warm welcome to a very atmospheric bar. Our room was equally as good with low beamed ceilings and a great bathroom. Our friends were delayed and our dinner time was pushed back with no fuss whatsoever. The menu was good and the food excellent with great priced Malbec. Breakfast first class and the service was very relaxed and super efficient. Our experience was repeated the following day. Overall a great hotel with great food and service. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Our second visit and it is still a lovely, comfortable and extremely friendly place to spend two nights. Our room was spacious, clean with a vast bed and definitely stylish. Food excellent. I must stress however the service which could not have been better. Lovely friendly young ladies ,with special mention to Anna who came to our rescue and sorted our tyre pressure problem, talk about versatile !! Locals so friendly, by the 2nd night I felt as though I lived in he village. One little thing I found the TV in our room unintelligible, you can get , it seems hundreds of unheard of on demand channels but BBC News no chance. Overall though brilliant

Great Inn with several lovely rooms. We stayed in Great Tew I think with a lovely bathroom with separate shower and roll top bath. Hardly ever have a bath but really enjoyed relaxing here. Really nice bar with friendly locals and great staff. Very comfortable super king bed as two singles together with quality bedding and very comfortable sleeping. Water and fresh milk were in a fridge on the landing, the milk in little thermos flasks with the name of your room on. A really nice touch as fresh milk is so much nicer than sachets. We ate in the restaurant and we both said the crab and kimchi starter which was hot with cheese was absolutely delicious and one of the best starters we had ever had...

Best steak I have ever eaten! Staff were lovely as we came in quite late for dinner, around 8:20 and the kitchen didn’t shut until 9 which was amazing. I had a gin and lemonade which was around £7 which is very reasonable, and my boyfriend had a pint at £4.75 which again was very reasonable! We had the lamb shoulder which was seasoned amazingly, and the ribeye steak, i can easily say it was the best steak i have ever had! They were both very filling even if though the lamb didn’t look like much on the plate, the steak was also very big. For dessert we both had pavlova, the strawberries had a sweet but sour tang to them, but the meringue was a little dense. Still delicious. Overall, definite...
