Unreal Sunday lunch. Best roast I’ve ever had! Beautiful location looking over the Putney river. Staff were really attentive and it was really speedy service

Fantastic Sunday roast, staff were excellant and great location. Will definately come back. The food was extremely good and portion size very very good. A totally pleasant afternoon.

We had pork with crispy crackling, however, the crackling was not crispy. We were brought more crackling but it was no better. This was a great pity as the service and setting was very nice. Speisekarte ansehen

We had a roast this Sunday. The food was perfect. This who had the Dukes roast raves about the crackling. Unfortunately, if you are sat in the pub area service really suffered. They need more staff. Tempted not to pay service but it’s not the staffs fault that they lacked support. Having said that all interactions were pleasant

Superb lunch at the Wolsey Room. Would highly recommend this venue and the lunch and the service. We had a big birthday party there for 32 people. Everything was perfect and great value for money. Clemmie was a superb organiser and attended to our every need. We all had a great time and I would highly recommend the Duke’s Head in Putney. Thanks team

I visited this restaurant for a reunion with old friends from my rowing days who I hadn't seen in 45 years. We all began our rowing journey along Putney embankment in the mid-70s. It was quiet during lunchtime but the Youngs beer and lunch were both excellent. We had a very relaxed afternoon reminiscing about our days on the river and nights spent at The Dukes Head. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience, although it was so quiet that we had to search for the bar staff a few times. We definitely plan on returning. Speisekarte ansehen

We arrived at 7.15 pm on a Sunday evening. We had a very nice table near the window and the staff were quick to take our order. The choice available on the menu was limited with only one roast chicken left. We had to ask 3 times for a bottle of water for the table. The food arrived fairly quickly but the roast pork was very disappointing. The meat at the edges and underside was so overcooked it was hard. There was some soft meat in the middle. We were not asked how our food was during the meal or when the plates was taken away. We had to ask for the dessert menu after not being asked when the plates were taken away. The pub is housed in a charming old building with lots of character, featuring parquet flooring and memorabilia from the famous boat race. It has a cozy and homely atmosphere, with three levels including a terrace downstairs overlooking the Thames, a street level, and a top floor with bars on each level. We had dinner on a Sunday evening and it was fantastic. I ordered the Wild mushroom, artichoke, and cauliflower wellington, while my husband had the beer battered cod with triple cooked chips, mushy peas, and tartare sauce. I have a strong affinity for British pubs, and this particular old pub has many wonderful qualities. Its riverside location is fantastic, the bar area is charming and full of character, and the outdoor space offers lovely views with minimal noise from passing traffic. The staff, especially a tall, thin French gentleman, were quite friendly and charming. The prices were reasonable, with most lunch options priced below £20. However, I believe they need to improve their food offerings. I dined at the pub twice in one week, trying the belly of pork and fish and chips.
